   On Becoming Northern Sky...

Welcome to our 2015 Season and
our very first season as Northern Sky Theater.

This year we celebrate more than 45 years of bringing to life the stories and songs of Wisconsin and beyond. From our humble beginnings as The Heritage Ensemble and then American Folklore Theatre, we've produced more than 50 shows and entertained hundreds of thousands from our little clearing in the woods. As we enter this new era, we are so grateful to all of you who have been on this adventure with us.

Whether you are new to making memories with us or have been making them for decades, we hope you'll take a moment to learn a little about our journey to becoming Northern Sky...

From our friends at Milwaukee Rep
The Beautiful Music All Around Us
Milwaukee Repertory Theater presents The Beautiful Music All Around Us - a tribute to folk music of the 1930s and 40s. This show is written and performed by 2013 Grammy-nominee, Stephen Wade, who has spent nearly his whole life on the exploration of Southern musical traditions. Songs include "Coal Creek March", "Train 45" and many more!

If you are interested in the roots of folk and blues music (as we know many of our Northern Sky fans are), you should see the amazing Stephen Wade at the Stackner Cabaret in Milwaukee. He tells some funny and fascinating stories, and plays many illuminating examples of the music on guitar and one of his amazing collection of banjos.
The Beautiful Music All Around Us is at The Rep through March 15.
Northern Sky Theater is a non-profit professional theatre organization that produces original musical shows in repertory from June through August.  Northern Sky continues its performances into the fall with shows at the Door Community Auditorium and Door County town halls September through October and over the Christmas holidays.
