Release: American Folklore Theatre (AFT) has announced its 2014 musical comedy line up for the Summer and Fall Seasons in Door County, Wisconsin.

Strings Attached, a world premiere commissioned by AFT and written by Dave Hudson and Colin Welford, is described as a "tuneful tale of tangled twins." In this case, one twin ends up a ukulele fanatic in Hawaii while the other becomes part of a family banjo dynasty in Wisconsin. The two worlds intertwine in musical merriment and mayhem at a northern Wisconsin lodge.

"AFT's 2014 line up of musical comedy is all about sharing a laugh with those you love," revealed AFT's managing director Dave Maier. "This year's world premiere borrows loosely from Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors, spoofing the tale of twins separated at birth. Of course, it wouldn't be an AFT production if we didn't tell this classic story in our own unique and whimsical way."

Packer Fans from Outer Space makes a terrestrial re-visit to AFT after a galactic hiatus of eleven years. This delightfully whacky musical, by Frederick Heide, Lee Becker and James Kaplan, was AFT's biggest hit ever in 2002, when it made its earthly debut. Since then the show has had multiple productions around Wisconsin, including a run at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts in Milwaukee in 2012 that received critical raves.

Playing in repertory with Strings Attached and Packer Fans from Outer Space will be the fan-favorite Guys On Ice.

"This is undoubtedly our most-requested show ever and hasn't played on our summer stage for seven years. So we felt it was time for another visit into the world of Marvin, Lloyd, and Ernie the Moocher," stated Artistic Director, Jeffrey Herbst. Guys on Ice returns to the fishing hole for a couple of nights each week.

American Folklore Theatre's Summer Season runs from June 11th - August 23rd at the Amphitheater in Peninsula State Park. There is no park sticker required to attend performances.

The Bachelors, makes its debut at the Door Community Auditorium in the fall. This follow up to Guys On Ice, by Fred Alley and James Kaplan, celebrates the realm of bachelorhood through the lens of Stew and John, hapless bumblers in search of love in Madison, Wisconsin.

The performance schedule and casting will be announced early in 2014.

Tickets for both the summer and fall season will go on sale April 1st in the AFT box office at the Green Gables shops in north Ephraim, via phone at (920) 854-6117, and online at www.FolkloreTheatre.com

American Folklore Theatre is a non-profit professional theatre organization that produces original musical shows in repertory from June through August.  AFT continues its performances into the fall with shows at the Door Community Auditorium and town halls September through October and over the Christmas holiday.
