Since then, three more Chief Executives have joined the pantheon. And If Elected returns to the 2012 fall line up in anticipation of yet another humdinger election cycle. "I always get a little over-excited about this particular show. I just can't help myself since I'm a confessed presidential trivia junkie," said, Jeffrey Herbst, AFT's Artistic Director. Herbst's life-long passion for presidential trivia comes alive in the production. Compiled by David Peterson, Fred Alley, and Herbst himself, And If Elected takes a lighthearted and occasionally poignant look at the history of the presidential election, telling stories of mudslinging that have surprised and delighted audiences for 20 years. The evening promises levity and soft jabs throughout the decidedly bipartisan evening of satire. Numerous campaign songs that have been used as political tools throughout American history are presented with wit and tongue in cheek spirit. The show features Herbst, who has performed in each incarnation of the show, along with veteran AFT performers Jake Endres and Karen Mal. Endres, a performer based in Minneapolis, returns from the 2008 cast while Mal returns for the 20th anniversary, having done both the original production in 1992 and the follow up in 1996. The show will run for two weeks only at the Ephraim Village Hall, October 4th through the 14th. Performances are Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 PM and Saturdays and Sundays at 4:00 PM. Tickets are $20 for adults and $12 for children 12 & under. Tickets are on sale now in the AFT box office at the Green Gables shops in north Ephraim, via phone at (920) 854-6117, and online at www.FolkloreTheatre.com. American Folklore Theatre is a non-profit professional theatre organization that produces original musical shows in repertory from June through August in Peninsula State Park. AFT continues its performances into the fall with shows at the Door Community Auditorium and Door County town halls September through October and over the Christmas holidays. American Folklore Theatre is a member of Theatre Wisconsin an organization that promotes non-profit theatre groups in the state.
