Top Jobs begins tomorrow Feb. 19-21
There is still time to register for Top Jobs, the best advertising and public relations networking opportunity of the semester (if not the year). Top Jobs is an annual event held by the student-run advertising agency, Lindsey + Asp, and is intended to give students the chance for face-to-face interaction with recruiters they would, otherwise, have little to no access to. Registration forms can be found online or at Lindsey + Asp, Gaylord 2120. Pre-registration closes today, but registration is open tomorrow morning as well. If you're able to make it in tonight to register, the cost is $35, but if you register at the door, the cost is $40. Top Jobs runs from Feb. 19-21. To learn about some Top Job success stories, head to Lindsey + Asp's Twitter.

Help Gaylord help you: Report your job or internship
As you know, post-graduation information and internship information is important to the Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication and your fellow students. To become more efficient in gathering and reporting this information, Career Services has partnered with a new database system called SOON (Students Online Outcome Network.) How does this pertain to you? SOON will be replacing the "Report a Job or Internship" survey found on HIREsooner.com. You will still be able to access the survey through "Report a Job or Internship," but it will take you to the new SOON platform. Since this is the week we are launching SOON, I thought it would be a good time to remind you all to report any upcoming full time or internship offers you have accepted. If you have accepted a full time position or an internship and have not reported it to Career Services, please take a couple minutes to fill out our survey through this link. Letting Career Services know that you have accepted a job/internship takes you out of the online resume books so that employers are only reaching out to students who have not yet received an offer. As always, your data is held in strict confidence and is safe in the SOON database. Thank you for your time and let me know if I can answer any questions!

Scholarships
ONF journalism scholarshipsDeadline: Feb. 20
The Oklahoma Newspaper Foundation has a scholarship program that will award three $1,500 scholarships to Oklahoma journalism students for the 2015-16 school year. The scholarships are intended for college students pursuing a newspaper career. The scholarship application form can be found here, or it can be downloaded at www.okpress.com/ONF. The application deadline is February 20, 2015. In the past, OU has been a powerful presence in the ONF scholarships. Two of the three 2014-2015 recipients are OU students, and a fourth scholarship, the Breeden Scholarship, was also granted to an OU student. That means 75 percent of ONF scholarship recipients came from this university. It's definitely worth applying. ( Oklahoma Newspaper Foundation is an affiliate of Oklahoma Press Association.)
