Gaylord College Adopts New Branding

Over the past two years the Gaylord College Board of Visitors has been working with staff, students and faculty to develop a branding platform to showcase Gaylord College as one of the top journalism programs in the nation. The process was outlined in the most recent issue of the Pulse Alumni magazine (page 32), which you should have received in August. Since that publication, we have received approval to go forward with the new logo and brand.

Below is a video representation of w
hat we are calling the Gaylord College Manifesto, we believe it and the logo above capture the essence of our students, faculty and staff - grounded in tradition, but ready to embrace the new day. We value greatly our connection to the University of Oklahoma brand, and the prestige that goes with it, and will continue to leverage it to elevate the Gaylord College brand as we showcase the excellence of our students, faculty and alumni.

The latest book by John Martin Meek (Journalism '59), "The Other Pearl Harbor," is the basis for a History Channel-produced program, the first in a series called "Hardcore Heroes," which premiered Aug. 6 on the American Heroes Channel.
One of the two major heroes is then 2nd Lt. Kenneth M. Taylor of Hominy, Oklahoma who left OU at the beginning of his junior year to join the Army Air Corps.
