Duties: Operation of studio and field cameras and related equipment, and associated lighting equipment; maintain and clean studio and prop areas.  Serve as Stage Manager during broadcasts.  Perform light duty carpentry and other studio maintenance responsibilities.  Other duties as assigned, including assisting other departments.

 

Skills: Thorough working knowledge of TV production including cameras, lighting, microphones, and studio operations.  Solid communication and organizational skills.   Strong computer skills.   Ability to perform well under pressure.  Handyman and light carpentry skills a plus.

 

Hours/Schedule: Part-time,16.5 to 18 hours per week.  Primary Schedule:  Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 4:30pm-11:00pm.  Must be very flexible with schedule changes due to holidays, vacations, and sick leave etc.

 

Education/Experience: High school diploma and 1 year of training or experience in television production required.

 

Special Requirements: Must have or be able to obtain an Oklahoma Drivers License.

Looking to fill Intern positions for the 2014 Summer and Fall Semesters

(Limited number of positions available for each semester.) 

 

Preference:  Juniors, Seniors, Graduate Students with a GPA of 3.0 or better with a major or minor emphasis in journalism, public relations, political science or government

 

Internship Description:

Interns for the Senate Communications Division are responsible for assisting staff with day to day responsibilities, including distribution of news clippings internally, as well as filing and faxing press releases.  Interns may also be required to write "form" press releases which require specific information to be entered into a standard template.  Interns may also be asked to assist the communications staff during press conferences and other media events.  Work hours will be arranged to fit the student's schedule. Morning work hours are preferred.

 

A $100 transportation stipend is provided at the successful completion of the internship.

CARE Oklahoma

 

CARE Oklahoma is currently seeking interns for the upcoming summer and fall semester. The chosen candidates will have a number of duties but should exhibit interest in public policy, event planning, public relations and/or strategic planning. Position Period: Summer 2014 Internship (May - August) Fall Semester 2014 (August - December) 

 

Hours: Candidate should be available a minimum of 15 hours per week. Work hours will be arranged to fit the student's schedule. 

 

Qualifications: * Ideally a college Junior or Senior studying political science, marketing, advertising, graphic design, public relations, communications, journalism or another related field. (Sophomore level students could be considered.) * Excellent time-management skills, organizational skills, and interpersonal communication ability. * Self-starter with a professional demeanor and positive attitude * Research skills and technology and software experience including: Microsoft Office, various social media platforms, cloud computing, Adobe illustration products, as well as any other useful software platforms. * Proficiency in AP Style Knowledge and editorial skills a plus, but not required. 

 

Top Activities and Responsibilities: Responsibilities vary according to the date or time and may include: * Provide support during planning and execution of events. * Assist with a variety of administrative tasks as needed * Development of a communications plan, as well as content creation for growing digital presence of the organization and its members. * Conduct online research for CARE, vendor partners, and other various projects; as well as being prepared to compile and present reports on findings. * Writing press releases, newsletters and articles * Assisting staff with day to day responsibilities. * Brainstorming ideas for application of social media and other marketing strategies.

Administrative Specialist/Copywriter

National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum

 

Position Location: Oklahoma City, Okla.

 

Full Time - 40 hours per week, some evenings and weekends required

 

Overview:

The Administrative Specialist is a position with diverse responsibilities that requires a professional presence at the Administrative reception desk, answering customer inquiries and routing phone calls promptly. This employee is the face of the museum, greeting Board members, donors, guests and vendors. The position supports the Facility Sales and Marketing Manager by assisting with numerous duties including: communicating with existing and potential rental clients and handling bookings.

 

Duties will require exceptional computer skills, accuracy and the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously with ability to organize and prioritize work load. The employee supports the Executive Office with general administrative assistance as needed, and his/her direct supervisor is the Assistant to the Museum President. However, the employee will perform work for multiple departments and a portion of hours may be spent supporting marketing and publications by performing general copy writing, proofreading and basic graphic design.

 Essential Duties:

  • Answer phones at receptionist desk, field customer inquiries, transfer calls to appropriate staff or department. Greet and announce visitors to the administrative offices.

  • Assist the Manager of Facility Sales and Marketing with facility rental inquiries, conducting site visits with clients, pre-booking dates for rentals and museum events, answering client emails and phone calls, preparing rental contracts, processing payments, booking logistics appointments, preparing and distributing rental packets to potential rental clients and filing. Must learn specialized event-planning software and Museum leasing policies and restrictions

  • Demonstrate strength in problem solving and diplomatic communication skills, particularly with clients and guests

  • Assist in researching, writing, proofreading and revising internal and external copy for publications, newsletters, master calendar of events, brochures, event invitations, membership materials, collateral materials and other projects as needed

  • Distribute incoming mail, maintain staff phone list and perform general administrative support

  • Will be required to work some evenings and weekends

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • College degree required. Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or Marketing degree preferred with one to three years writing experience. Candidates with equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field may be considered

  • Writing portfolio required for interview

  • Must be proficient with current software, especially Microsoft Office and Excel, with experience or willingness to learn Raiser's Edge donor software, Event Pro software and Adobe Creative Suites graphic design software

  • Strong communications skills (written and oral, internal and external) with an emphasis on customer service
