addtwoNew Dream Course for Fall 2014

FIRST DRAFT OF HISTORY:

COVERING AMERICA'S WARS

JMC 5970/4970

 Tuesdays, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Some of world's most celebrated war correspondents will be coming to the University of Oklahoma in Fall 2014. The Gaylord College will be offering a new dream course pairing two of the college's award-winning professors - Pulitzer Prize winner John Schmeltzer and Emmy award winner Mike Boettcher. Just as technological changes have transformed warfare, technology has changed how correspondents cover those conflicts. This course will provide a tour of America's wars with the assistance of speakers such as one of first POW female war correspondents, to Dan Rather who brought the Vietnam War home to America's living rooms and New York Times photographer Tyler Hicks, who helped carry the body of Oklahoma City native Anthony Shadid out of Syria.

rStudy Abroad Photos Needed!

Study Abroad students we need your photos! If you traveled with the International Ads or Travel Writing classes over the Winter break we want to see your pictures! We may use them for displays in the hall, to promote next year's trip or in our annual alumni magazine, Pulse. Be sure you have your name on any disks so we can give you credit.

Please put them on a dropbox, flashdrive or good old fashion CD/DVD and bring them to Celia Perkins in the dean's office on the third floor. Send dropbox or other file transfer invites to cperkins@ou.edu.
