Internship opportunity for BEM students
The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation is looking to hire a paid intern with broadcast and electronic media experience. This position will office out of our headquarters in Oklahoma City. We ideally would like a student to be available two to three days a week. They will work in the information and education division on a variety of projects such as filming and editing segments for our television show "Outdoor Oklahoma" on OETA, writing/editing news releases/magazine articles and radio/tv spots, taking wildlife photos, monitoring social media sites and uploading photos/videos and answering public inquiries. It is a very dynamic internship program that will allow students to gain office and field experience in the great outdoors of Oklahoma.

ONF Internships
At least 18 newspapers will receive funding to host a paid intern in summer 2014. The program promotes the value of working at Oklahoma newspapers and benefits students as they begin their professional careers. The program is made possible by a grant from the Ethics and Excellence in Journalism Foundation.
Student Applications:Eligibility
To receive an ONF paid internship, students must be:
a) A U.S. Citizen or permanent U.S. resident b) Enrolled in a U.S. college or university c) Majoring in journalism, advertising or an equivalent degree program d) Enrolled full time as a sophomore, junior or senior during the 2012-13 academic year
e) Demonstrating a career commitment to newspaper journalism
Salary
Interns will work between 30 and 40 hours per week for eight weeks. The internship salary is $8.50 per hour for a maximum of $2,720 provided by ONF. Hosting newspapers are instructed to distribute internship salary as part of regular staff payroll.

BASIC PURPOSE
The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of tasks/projects that address the needs of the Marketing department and to facilitate a learning opportunity for the Intern
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and maintain information in PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash, DreamWeaver and PowerPoint.
- Develop internal and external marketing projects.
- Create marketing materials with creative services team.

Position Location: Oklahoma City, Okla. 
The Office of Governor Mary Fallin is currently seeking part-time interns for the spring semester. The chosen candidates will have a number of duties, including assisting office staff with research, special events, attending committee and board meetings, database management, scheduling, and correspondence. Applicants should be interested in government and working with Oklahoma's top public policy officials.
Position Period: Spring Semester 2014 (January - May)

2013 IRTS SUMMER FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
Date: June 2 - August 3, 2013 Where: New York, New York
The IRTS Summer Fellowship Program teaches up-and-coming communicators the realities of the media industry and business world through a nine-week, expense-paid fellowship, which includes practical experience and career-planning advice. Students selected for this highly competitive program learn about opportunities throughout the industry, in addition to interning at a specific company in NYC where skills are matched to a corresponding area of our business. The Fellowship also provides the opportunity to network with industry professionals, take related field trips and attend panels, lectures and group discussions.
Previous internship placements have included: AMC Networks, CBS Corporation, Clear Channel Communications, Discovery Communications, Disney I ABC Television Group, Fox Networks Group, Grey Group, NBCUniversal, Nielsen, Scripps Networks Interactive, Time Warner Cable, Turner Broadcasting, Viacom and many, many more.

Discover Oklahoma
AAA's Discover Oklahoma, a weekly program produced by the Oklahoma Department of Tourism has internship opportunities in the Oklahoma City office for the Spring semester 2014.
The program is dedicated to the promotion of Oklahoma tourism by featuring people, destinations and attractions throughout the state.
AAA's Discover Oklahomais broadcast every Saturday at 6:30 p.m. in four major television markets; KWTV Channel 9 in Oklahoma City, KOTV Channel 6 in Tulsa, KSWO Channel 7 in Lawton, and digitally via KXII Channel 12.2 at 6:00 p.m. in Sherman, TX and KCTU in Wichita, Kansas. Cox Cable also airs the show multiple times a week on their cable system covering the entire state.
Selected interns can expect training and gather experience in the following areas:
- Transcribing Interviews
- Video photography
- Non-linear editing
- Producing stories
- Writing feature stories for television
- Lighting
- Assisting Executive Producer and Producer on researching story ideas and locations
- Videotaping, writing and producing stories for Oklahoma Department of Tourism and Recreation website
Interns will be selected based on ability, attitude and university level. Proficiency in areas of public relations is a plus, but not a requirement.
Internships are limited to those persons seeking internship credit toward graduation. All internships are unpaid. Once selected, applicants will be required to provide proper materials to university-sponsored internship program.
