Job Qualifications & Requirements:
Safeguard seeks someone who has the following: substantial production experience working in Macintosh platform with InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, as well as a positive, helpful, hard-working personality. The applicant must be able to produce work with a quick turn around and manage multiple deadlines. Main duties include: graphic design and typesetting.
Other Job Details:
This is a 20 hour a week unpaid internship. More hours are negotiable. While unpaid the applicant will gain vast experience in the print industry as well as in promotional products. Applicant will also be treated as one of the staff and be included in all activities of the team environment.

Internship - OKC Boathouse Foundation
The OKC Boathouse Foundation promotes the use and development of the Oklahoma River as a world-class urban aquatic venue and provides access to rowing, kayaking and fitness programs for people of all ages and abilities. OKCBF oversees all Riversports programs and attractions - including the new SandRidge Sky Trail Adventure Course - plus events on the Oklahoma River, and facilities in the Boathouse District and at Lake Overholser, and works with the coaches and athletes at the OKC National High Performance Training Center. This internship is designed to provide interns with a realistic, hands-on perspective of the public relations/marketing role in a non-profit organization. In the process, interns gain valuable, resume-building skills, experiences and work samples.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Write and generate content for newsletter copy, marketing collateral, web news stories, news releases, and social media.
- Provide media relations and social marketing planning, support, and follow up.
- Assist with video production projects.
- Assist with promotions and events.
- Assist with research projects.
- Collaborate and communicate with other members of the OKCBF team.
Candidate Should Have:
- Completed at least two years of study in marketing, public relations or journalism degree tract.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, e-mail, Internet, Mac OS, and Social Media platforms.
- Strong writing skills.
- Experience and familiarity with basic journalism practices and AP style.
- Strong desire to participate in a team environment.
- Professional dress and demeanor.
- At least 15 hours a week to devote to the internship.
Hours are flexible. Position is unpaid and does not qualify for benefits. Semester-long internships are available year round and college credit is available.

Position Location: Oklahoma City, Okla. The Office of Governor Mary Fallin is currently seeking part-time interns for the upcoming Fall Semester. The chosen candidates will have a number of duties, including assisting office staff with research, special events, attending committee and board meetings, database management, scheduling, and correspondence. Applicants should be interested in government and working with Oklahoma's top public policy officials.
Position Period: Summer 2013 (May - August) Hours: Candidate should be available a minimum of 15 hours per week Qualifications:
- College Junior or Senior studying political science, history, pre-law, public relations, economics, communications, or any other applicable field

Waller & Company PR Internship
Purpose The purpose of the Waller & Company Public Relations intern position is to educate and introduce eager candidates to our evolving profession. Waller interns will garner hands-on, professional experience working alongside knowledgeable team members on diverse public relations campaigns. Interns will assist in research, writing, and media relations planning and execution for a variety of clients.
Qualifications Applicants should be self-motivated juniors, seniors or recent graduates with a team attitude, and a background in public relations, journalism, communications or a related field.
Applicants must possess strong writing skills, AP Style knowledge and exhibit keen organizational and interpersonal skills. Previous internship experience is a plus.
Compensation Interns receive a $500 stipend upon completion of a 12-week internship. In addition, Waller will work with students and their professors for applicable college credit.
Time Commitment Summer internships begin in mid-May. Interns work 12 to 18 hours per week for a minimum of 12 weeks. Specific hours and days of the week are flexible.
Top 10 Intern Responsibilities and Activities
- Assist as needed with entry-level PR tasks associated with various client projects, frequently communicating your progress and challenges to account leaders.
- Write basic press releases, fact sheets and copy for client projects.
- Conduct online research for Waller, clients and potential projects, and prepare reports on findings.
- Maintain updated local, regional, national and trade media lists.
- Monitor and clip publications for Waller and client media hits.
- Help with administrative work as needed. This may include, but not be limited to filing, making copies, and answering, screening and routing in-bound phone calls.
- Attend local Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) meetings with team members, if available.
- Update information in the firm's contact database.
- Arrive on time, dressed professionally for your scheduled shift.

Internship for Next Fall - FJJMA
Web Intern
The intern will work in the administrative offices under the direct supervision of the Director of Communication. A major component of the intern's responsibilities will be the general maintenance of the FJJMA website, designing new web pages and updating the FJJMA blog. The web intern will use a university standardized content management system. Knowledge of HTML is not necessary, though is preferred. The intern will work closely with other staff members as needs arise.
Salary: $1,500 per semester
Hours: 20 per week
Work schedule: Mon-Fri, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., set your own schedule.
Responsibilities:
* Readily available to assist the Director of Communication with various tasks
* Coordinating multiple and simultaneous projects
* Duties include, but are not limited to: updating the website calendar, writing for the blog, updating exhibition and past exhibition pages and adding press releases.
* Other duties as assigned
* Must work well under deadlines - or with very little notice
Qualifications:
* Undergraduate (soph. or junior) or graduate student
* Enrolled in the Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication
* Strong writing and editing skills
* Basic Photoshop skills
