Earning Course Credit for Internships
The Gaylord College's internship process starts with your academic adviser. If you think you might be interning during the following semester or want to plan for it during a future semester, making an appointment with your academic adviser will ensure you stay on track for graduation. Once you have met with your adviser, the next step in the internship process is to: - Watch our Internship Packet and Process DVD and receive a packet. This video can be watched anytime, Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. in the Student Services Center, Rm. 2533. It is a 10-minute video that will outline the paperwork and requirements to receive credit for your internship.
- The final elements of ensuring credit are to secure the internship with your employer and return your packet
to the Student Services Center.
Once all of these components have been completed: - You will receive an e-mail stating your internship has been approved or denied. Once approved, you will be given a log in and username, and instructions on how to track your hours for your internship.
During the internship, you will be responsible for returning your: - Mid-term evaluation, final evaluation, student evaluation, reflection paper and logged hours at the appropriate time during the semester.

Internships - Office of the Governor
Position Location: Oklahoma City, Okla.
The Office of Governor Mary Fallin is currently seeking part-time interns for the upcoming Spring Semester. The chosen candidates will have a number of duties, including assisting office staff with research, special events, attending committee and board meetings, database management, scheduling, and correspondence. Applicants should be interested in government and working with Oklahoma's top public policy officials.
Position Period: Spring 2013 Hours: Candidate should be available a minimum of 15 hours per week
Qualifications: - College Junior or Senior studying political science, history, pre-law, public relations, economics, communications, or any other applicable field
- Excellent organization and communication skills

2013 ERTS Summer Fellowship Program  When: June 2 - August 3, 2013 Where: New York, New York Application Deadline: Sunday, December 9, 2012 Expense-Paid Opportunity: Travel, housing, and living allowance included. Eligibility: Extremely competitive. Students must be college juniors, seniors, or graduate students as of April 2013. The Summer Fellowship Program, the most notable student out-reach effort of IRTS, teaches up-and-coming communicators the realities of the business world through an expense-paid fellowship, which includes practical experience and career-planning advice. Each year college juniors, seniors and graduate students are selected nationwide to participate in the nine-week Summer Fellowship Program. The Program begins with an extensive one-week orientation to broadcasting, cable, advertising, and interactive media. Fellows have a rare opportunity to question industry professionals at panels, lectures, and group discussions. They also take related field trips and learn career planning, networking and interviewing skills by attending industry social functions. Following this first week, Fellows gain full-time "real world" experience at New York-based media corporations to which each is assigned for the duration of the nine-week Fellowship. Fellows are then able to reinforce or redefine specific career goals before settling into a permanent job in the electronic media industry. Accomplished students from all majors (including math, computer science, business, marketing, communications, etc.) are encouraged to apply. Oklahoma Film & Music Office Spring Internships
The Oklahoma Film & Music Office (OF&MO) is offering Spring internship opportunities in our Oklahoma City office. OF&MO would like to provide interested interns with an understanding of the film and music industries in Oklahoma by involving them in diverse projects.
One of the integral duties for which interns are responsible is posting events on the OF&MO Website. They will research and compile film and music events throughout Oklahoma and post them on our Website, www.oklahomafilm.org. In addition, they will draft and edit our weekly e-newsletter, This Week in Film & Music.
Interns will also assist with writing press releases for the Website, researching and archiving media clips, working with tools such as Oklahoma's Online Production Guide Reel-Scout, and are given the opportunity to volunteer for special events sponsored by OF&MO. Also, assistance with general office duties is required on a daily basis.
We are particularly interested in intern candidates with experience in film, music, public relations, or marketing for specialized projects. Interns will be selected based on ability, attitude, and university level, with priority given to those in their junior or senior year. Experience with office systems and phone etiquette is encouraged.
All internships are unpaid, and are limited to those persons seeking internship credit toward graduation. It is the responsibility of the student to complete all enrollment and coursework requirements set forth by their college.

El Nacional Media Internships El Nacional media is looking for interns to serve in our Editorial, Print & Web Production as well as Video Production departments. Purpose
- Assist the firm staff in public relations research, planning, implementation and evaluation for a variety of clients. The Spring semester will have a heavy focus on writing, and Rex will be seeking an intern that can fulfill this need.
Qualifications
- Completion of at least one year of college studying public relations, journalism, marketing, communications or a related field.
- Proficient in AP Style.
- Strong writing, organizational, interpersonal and computer skills are required.
- Strong understanding of Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, Flickr, Google+, Pinterest and other social media applications.
- Ability to create ideas that impact.
- Self-motivated.
- Fluent in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Hours
- A minimum 20 hours per week is required.
Job Description
- Conduct research and maintain databases on an assortment of projects. Examples include maintaining media lists, tracking media results, obtaining vendor bids, and conducting online research.
- Assist in implementing a variety of client projects, including providing support in a large writing project. Additional responsibilities may include planning special events and news conferences, writing and proofreading news releases and responding to correspondence.
- Participate in some client meetings.
- Provide some administrative support.
- Other duties as required by the Rex PR Internship Program (available upon request)

Time Commitment:
- Volunteer schedule is flexible and varies based on timing and number of CR-sponsored drives.
- Typically, five hours before events and three hours after the event are what is needed to complete these tasks.
- Dependable volunteers needed on days scheduled to complete these tasks!
