Dahlia Society Show and Sale, 2015 Dahlia show flyerAugust 15-16
Have you seen the Dahlia Dell lately, in the roundabout just east of the Conservatory? It's bursting with giant dahlia blooms of all shapes and colors, thanks to the hard work of volunteers from the Dahlia Society of California who donate their time several months a year to cultivating the stunning garden.

Support the Dahlia Society AND take home some gorgeous plants at the 2015 Annual Dahlia Show. This year's show will be held Saturday and Sunday, August 15-16, in the San Francisco County Fair Building, a.k.a. the Hall of Flowers, at 9th Ave & Lincoln in Golden Gate Park.

Admission to the Dahlia Show is FREE and proceeds from sales benefit the Dahlia Society of California. This sale is a favorite among Conservatory of Flowers staff. We hope to see you there!

1199 9th Avenue at Lincoln Way. Show opens at 10am both days.

Amorphophallus konjac
What's in Bloom?
Amorphophallus konjac
Location: Potted Plants
Hold your nose! The A. konjac, also known as "devil's tongue," unfurled last week in Potted Plants and for several days thereafter emitted its signature smell of rotting meat.

We rarely include the A. konjac in "What's in Bloom" since it's hard to predict exactly when this plant will unfurl and start stinking. But last week's pungent bloom was so spectacularly odorous that we thought it deserved a post-bloom mention. Follow us on Facebook to find out when the "devil's tongue" is blooming next!
