St. Luke's ECW invites ALL the Women of St. Luke's and their friends to a Tea Party...A tea party for women and about women in need. Our guest speakers will be Brandi Wiseman Community Outreach Manager from Women and Children First and Jane Martin from Women's Shelter of Central Arkansas. We will hear what the needs of these local women's shelters are and a special feature will be Broken China Jewelry benefiting Women's Shelter of Central Arkansas. To cap off the evening we will have a Justice Tea Party featuring tea grown and package by Women in a fair trade enterprise of their own with a special sharing tea ceremony that bonds us as Women Caring for Women.

Join All the women of St. Luke's for this wonderful of sharing! All you need to do is bring your favorite tea cup! There will be a VERY short ECW business meeting prior to the speakers. Please join us in St. Luke's Parish Hall at 6:30 on Thursday, July 30 and bring a friend.

Festival
Festival of the Senses

The St. Luke's Festival of the Senses, our parish's arts series, is gearing up for new year packed with exciting concerts and arts events. The year kicks off Tuesday, September 1 with Kiril And Friends, a chamber music program featuring violinist Kiril Laskarov, pianist Tatiana Roitman, and friends. Keep abreast of the FOS schedule and arts happenings at St. Luke's by "liking" St. Luke's Festival of the Senses on Facebook. If you would like to participate in FOS by becoming a contributor or to volunteer at events, please contact Jason Pennington, St. Luke's Organist/Choirmaster. The Festival of the Senses is an important supporter of the arts in Central Arkansas and is a major outreach ministry of our Music Department and parish.

Summer Bible study of women of the Bible

Spend the summer with us studying what women first said in the Bible, their historical background, and the significance of their words starting with the Genesis stories. You will be surprised who speaks the most. We are using the book, Bible Women, written by an Episcopal priest, Lindsay Freeman. Step into God's sacred circle of grandmothers, warriors, and prophets, and you will not come out the same. For questions email Chris Schaefer glschaefer@sbcglobal.net  or Joanna Seibert joannaseibert@me.com. Men as well as women of the church are welcome. Note meeting place change to Parish Hall.

CANNED FOOD CONTEST

This summer in May and June bring cans and boxes of food for Food Pantries in North Little Rock and St. Francis House and put in the blue barrel in the narthex. During the first three weeks in July there will be a can sculpture contest for our youth making sculptures from the can and box goods. Bring food every week and sign up with Joanna joannaseibert@me.com to be a participant or judge in the can sculpture contest that will be held during VBS on Friday, July 17th. Again, contact Joanna if you can help with this fun summer project. Food Trucks will be at St. Luke's for lunch at VBS closing on Friday July 17th. Support this new ministry by joining us for lunch starting at 10:30.

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED to help box up the food for the area food pantries which has been gathered from the MONSTER FOOD DRIVE.  We need help on Friday afternoon, July 17th, taking down the canned food sculptures and putting the food into boxes for the area food pantries to pick up from St. Luke's.  If you can help with this, please contact Jeannie Fry at 501 941 0430 or by email at fryesque@centurytel.net
