The Dick Johnston Children's Camp Needs YOU!
Did You Know ...
- At any given time in Arkansas, one or both of the parents of over 4,000 children is in prison
- 50,000 to 60,000 children in Arkansas have a parent who is or has been incarcerated
- 30% percent of children present at a parent's arrest were confronted with drawn weapons
- 3 in 100 American children will go to sleep tonight with a parent in jail or prison
- 1 in 10 children of prisoners will be incarcerated before reaching the age of 18
- Among high-risk populations, children of incarcerated parents have one of the highest suicide rates
The volunteer committee for the DJCC needs to raise approximately $35,000 each year to be able to hold this camp. The Diocese provides no funding and is only the treasurer for the camp.

Adult Formation Schedule
Adult formation for summer 2014,
9:15 am adult classroom. Beginning June 15 and throughout summer:
We will be studying the Gospel of John using the movie by the same name that has word for word the Gospel of John based on the American Bible Society's Good News Bible. The Gospel of John, perhaps the best-loved of the four Gospels, will vividly come alive in a faithful and powerful dramatization of the Biblical text in this movie that we will watch and discuss each week this summer. The movie meticulously re-creates the era of Jesus' life as seen through this gospel and is narrated by Christopher Plummer. This is a visual way to study this beautiful gospel together with friends during the summer on Sunday morning.
