Debra Klopp
Debra Klopp
Debra Klopp
WELCOME new artist, Debra Klopp, of Corbin, Kentucky to our family of indigenous artists! Debra adds to our eclectic collection with her one-of-a-kind sculptures / dolls that are sewn, stuffed, and painted, often with hand built clay faces and parts. This new group is both sweet & macabre, spooky and cute. Come experience them in person!

"I am a self-taught artist and I love making and creating dolls. I also love painting whatever comes to mind. This makes me strange one day and very normal the next. I enjoy my doll time because it is then that I can be a kid and everyone loves and misses being a kid. I enjoy my painting days because those are the days I have a voice in the big world around me. I hope you enjoy my art and my creative voice".

CAPTURE the spirit of the animal - is just what our newest ceramic artist Ruth Apter does as she sculpts these delightful little figures. Each raku-fired sculpture comes with a story card about the animal and Ruth's creative process. "I am inspired by artifacts from ancient cultures and domestic and wild animals, the tiniest of plants to the giant trees. What I create is a distillation of what I see. Playing with basic elements: clay, fire, wood and wind never disappoints me."

Amy Flesher ~
Trunk Show ~ April 16,  O'Bryonville's Third Thursday
Amy Flesher
ENJOY meeting local creative darling, Amy Flesher, during her Trunk Show of eclectic & colorful fused glass. Amy describes her design direction as "cute and/or creepy" with her graphic influences from classic horror films, TV, & b-movies to notable authors & poets. Amy captures modern pop-icons and local scenery & wildlife in functional dishes, pendants, money-clips, nightlights, and more but also demonstrates her love of nature and sculpture in organic-form pieces like the "branch bowl" shown here.

This is the first of three in the "Spring Series" of O'Bryonville's "Third Thursday" neighborhood-wide celebrations. Mark your calendars for April 16, May 21, & June 18 and stay tuned for more details on the events!

Gunter Schwegler~

Gunter Schwegler
OBSERVE the artist in-action as Gunter Schwegler captures our attention with his bold, colorful brush strokes while he demonstrates his skills of painting on silks for our first Saturday Studio of the year. Gunter will be making the trip from Cleveland to share his spring collection of framed and/or wearable paintings where he shares his imaginative designs of Cincinnati scenes, flora & fauna, and his own wild dreams.
