Faith Studies: Students are to be memorizing the Q verse by April 24th then begin working on the Ten Commandments.

Language Arts
Spelling: Week of April 15-19 begin, alive, again, because, around, ahead, before, between, away, behind, about, ago, they, want, awhile, beyond. Challenge words: draped, fabric, hem, mended, pattern, plaid, rustling.
Week of April 22-26 I'm, wouldn't, he's, weren't, aren't, she's, couldn't, wasn't, won't, I'd, o'clock, shouldn't, can't, isn't, let's, who's. Challenge words: ceaseless, companionable, discouraged, dismal, dreary, exhausted, pelting, and sullenly.
Reading: Theme 6 SMART SOLUTIONS looks at problems, solutions and pros and cons of different solutions as well as characteristics of characters. The story for April 15-19 is Poppa's New Pants. The text for April 22-26 is an excerpt from Beverly Cleary's book Ramona Quimby, Age 8.
Writing: Students will write a variety of poems these two weeks.
MATH
We will work on multiplication and division with place value. This will be a challenge with long division with and without remainders.
Social Studies: We will finish our study of the MIDWEST Region of the U.S.A. The Bread Basket and the Great Lakes are both part of this region.
The states and capitals quiz will be Tuesday if all goes well.
Science: We will begin our final science study on Earth's Materials. This focuses on rocks and minerals. Of course, we will continue to note the growth of our butterflies and then let them go. |
