MAY 2015

It's officially summer! Well, we made it. I know... It seemed like it would never arrive, but it's here. in addition to the beginning of summer, June also is National Dairy Month and, while we did this month's Spotlight on Pine Hill Dairy in Westport, I would urge you to have a look at our listings of dairy farms throughout the region. Of course, celebrating Dairy Month by eating local ice cream and cheese and drinking local milk all summer long is encouraged too!
Also, if you haven't already purchased tickets for our July 19 fundraiser with SEMALA, "Farm To Tapas", now is the time! With a multitude of local restaurants and caterers sourcing from local ingredients and bringing their creativity to the table (not to mention some stellar local wines and beers), it's going to be such a unique and fun summer event. This is one of those "can't miss" parties...so why would you miss it? Follow the link and register today!
That's the directors message for this month. Short and sweet! Oh, and BUY LOCAL!

It's here! Warm weather and fresh food, two of my favorite things. Farmers market season has begun, and it's time to go visit and support your local growers. Check out our Farmers Market Guide to find local food near you! Out for the day? Stop and get lunch where you know the food is sourced locally...some to check out are How on Earth, M & C Cafe, the Bayside, All Friends Smokehouse, and the Farmer's Daughter. Find more local restaurants here. Looking for something to do in the evening? Check out our Twilight workshops! We have at least one monthly. Next week, join us for an informative hands on gardening workshop at Friends Academy in Dartmouth. We are also super excited about our newest event, Farm to Tapas!
