Dear Friends and Supporters:
As some of you may know, Sarah Cogswell, who has been with Sarah SEMAP for seven years, will be leaving us on April 9th.
We are excited for her as she moves on to explore her other passions.  Sarah has been and will continue to be an incredible supporter of local agriculture.  She has earned the trust and respect of the farming community and her knowledge and commitment will be sorely missed.
Sarah, on behalf of the SEMAP Board, staff and all of southeastern Massachusetts, I thank you for what you have done for local food.  We wish you all the best in your future adventures.
You can reach Sarah at cogswell.sarah3@gmail.com or 508-542-0434.

Ag Day BAAg Day 2013
Ag Day Rosa
As you can see, we had a great day Tuesday at the State House - where the legislators get to taste and talk with farmers and local food advocates.  SEMAP's table was led by Kristen Irvin and Chef Rosa Galeno, who took the already amazingly delicious, Shy Brothers Cloumage to the next level with local herbs and her preserved tomato pesto, served on fresh baked bread.  "They swing by for a taste, but linger to learn about the triumphs and challenges of the farmers in the southeastern part of our state," said Chef Galeno.

It is so important to have access to our political leaders and legislators - here, with Governor Patrick and Commissioner Watson.  We are fortunate to have legislators is southeastern Mass that are true supporters of local agriculture and we thank them for listening and acting on or behalf.

I would especially like to thank Rep. Chris Markey for arranging a listening session for the state's Buy Local groups, filling the room with legislators and staff - allowing us to present updates on our continued successes, despite funding cuts.  I would also like to thank Rep. Schmid and Senator Rodrigues for their tremendous support over the years -and all our legislators who have supported local ag in southeastern Mass.  THANK YOU!
SEMAP Member CSA Update
NOW is the time to sign up for the 2013 Season!
Let us introduce you to several farms in Southeastern MA that offer Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs.  These growers offer 'shares' of their farm products directly to you and yours through a pre-season membership.

By committing financially at the beginning of the season, you receive the bounty of the farm week by week, sharing the risks and benefits of food production.
