Greetings!
web of life

As we launch into a new year we are excited to continue our work and to serve more farms and families in southeastern Mass.  Through The VINE and this email list we are now reaching out to over 5000 individuals.

This number has more than doubled in the last 2 years.  While this is very positive, SEMAP wants to improve on its service to the community and we want to take advantage of this increased reach to do it.

We ask that you take 5 to 10 minutes of your time and complete SEMAP's 2013 Farmer & Eater Survey.  This survey will determine ways in which SEMAP can best support and expand the region's local food system through our services to farmers and eaters.

Results will also guide our potential name change, role as convener, and how to be a better on-line resource.

Thank you for your time and feedback.

Sincerely,

Bridget Alexander

SEMAP Executive Director

AG CENSUS - Complete your form online!

Conducted every five years by USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service, the Census aims to capture a complete count of all U.S. farms, ranches and those who operate them. Census forms will be mailed out in late December, and responses are due by February 4th, 2013. Producers also have the option to complete their forms online.

Your response is important. Results of the Census are used to serve farmers and their communities today, and help benefit the future generations of farmers tomorrow. Legislators at various levels of government use the data when shaping farm policy, and agri-businesses factor it into their planning efforts. For more information about the Census, visit www.agcensus.usda.gov or call 1-800-4AG-STAT (1-888-424-7828).
