This year the Produce only CSA will include a cheese option (locally produced of course!). 
Additionally, locally grown, grass fed, meat (from the Farm Institute on Marthas Vineyard) will be offered to CSA members on pick up days for an additional cost. 


Hilltop Farm - 875A East Horseneck Road, Westport MA

Community Supported Agriculture programs, or CSA's, reestablish the connection between the food we eat and the farmers who grow it. The Farmers Garden - 140 Davis St. Rehoboth, MA   

The Noons family has been farming Rehoboth for generations. Steve and Tammy continue the Noons family tradition and passion for farming.  They have dedicated themselves to producing the highest quality and best tasting vegetables in our community. 


White Barn Farm - 458 South Street, Wrentham, MA

White Barn Farm will offer 60 shares of the harvest for 2011.  The CSA begins in early June and runs until late October, for a total of 22 weeks. We will pack your share into a box that can be quickly and conveniently toted away. This should be enough for a family of four or a couple of vegetarians.  Pick-up day options Tuesdays or Fridays. 


Silverbrook Farm - 934 Main Street Acushnet, Ma.

Tasty Tots and Mediterranean Quinoa Salad


Let's Move!, in association with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), is challenging school nutrition professionals, chefs, students, parents, and interested community members to create tasty, healthy, exciting new recipes for inclusion on school lunch menus across the country.

Participants will form teams, develop, document and prepare at least one healthy recipe in one of three categories (Whole Grains, Dark Green and Orange vegetables, or Dry Beans and Peas). Their creations will be served in the school's cafeteria and rated by students.  Read more...

Thursday April 14th 2011 - AHA! Downtown New Bedford - 'Sustainable Earth' (5pm-9pm)  SEMAP Discussion 7PM @ The Ocean Explorium, Union St. New Bedford, MA 

SEMAP's Executive Director, Bridget Alexander will present the Why, Where, and How of Local Food, and the many reasons why buying local produce and supporting small scale agriculture can help our carbon reduction.  Co-presenter, Mercy Cover will announce SEEAL's newest environmental iniative, the SouthCoast Energy Challenge (SEC).  The SEC campaign and new website is geared to help residents of  SouthCoast discover easy and effective ways to reduce their carbon output all while building community!

SEMAP will be the non-profit host for April's Winter Market, and what a market it will be!  The Plantation Theatre will be showing the 'GREENHORNS' documentary film  at 4:30pm and 7:00pm.  This film will take us on a journey through America visiting and hearing from 'young' new farmers, exploring their vision, practices and needs. SEMAP is Volunteer potluckseeking individuals to help at local food and farming educational programs and events.  Event season is starting up...come join the fun!

10:00am @ Soule Homestead, Middleboro, Ma.

Party starts at 10:00am. Thursday April 14th, 2011 - FREE Screening of 'A Chemical Reaction'

7:00pm @ The Coalition for Buzzards Bay, New Bedford MA 

Sometimes it takes an individual and sometimes a community to change the way we treat our environment.  Join us for a FREE screening of the award-winning documentary film 'A Chemical Reaction' by Paul Tukey, author of the "Organic Lawn Care Manual" and founder of SafeLawns. The film tells the inspirational story of how the town of Hudson, Quebec banned chemical lawn and garden pesticides in 1991 after focus was brought to the issue by dermatologist, Dr. June Irwin. Hosted by Taylor Kane, a Northeast Organic Farming Association Accredited Landcare Professional and landscape designer. A brief introduction about the film will be followed by discussion and presentation of resource materials.  Visit

Join UMD's new Living Classroom Project and learn more about creating and sustaining natural communities.  Walk Campus' extensive forest to see an array of species, harvest techniques and an old homestead site.  Speakers will discuss a variety of topics including Sustainable Forestry & Land Protection, Local Agriculture, as well as exciting future projects.
