E-HISTORY FACT
Local PA Railroad History
On May 5, 1972, the first of three unit trains of modular homes left Abrams yard in route to Indianapolis as part of HUD's "Operation Breakthrough," while two other trains headed to Seattle. GE's research lab participated in the  large-scale systematic housing demonstration program which featured innovative house designs and site plans. The train was touted as the largest unit train of housing material ever shipped.
