Crew Team, Needs You!
  The Upper Merion Crew Team is EXTENDING its 4th annual Mulch Fundraiser to Tuesday, February 2, due to the snowsotrm.  Delivery of the mulch is Saturday, March 5. Residents can order all the mulch they need and set up delivery too. Details at mulch.umcrew.org.


 
Bye! Bye! Birdie!  
The Township is auctioning the old Rooster previously located at Norview Farms. The auction is being held on eBay from Friday, January 29, until Monday, February 8. The proceeds will benefit the Upper Merion Township Foundation. If you would like to bid on the Rooster, please check out eBay's website. More information on the township's FB page.

Next Farmers Market is Saturday, January 30.  There are a smaller group of vendors, all of whom have a way of pre-ordering. Every other Saturday from 10:00 AM to  12:00 PM, they set up on the lower level of the parking lot behind the Township Building. You can pick up your orders, and most vendors bring a little extra to tempt you.

Enjoy 2 hours of low ropes initiatives designed to enhance problem solving, communication, and leadership skills, followed by a challenging rock-climb. This awesome experience is for teens ages 13-18 and takes place at Oaks Philadelphia Rock Gym on Wednesday, March 23 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

A reminder to check out this happy and healthy after-school program for kids featuring a different special veggie prepared by the students each week. Classes start in February for Bridgeport and Candlebrook Elementary.

Early UM Demographics
In 1785, three inns, four grist mills, three sawmills, one forge, and a fulling-mill existed in Upper Merion. There were three churches, one Episcopal, a Presbyterian, and a Christian Baptist, besides a Union Chapel.

PennDOT was awarded a $97.4 million contract to improve U.S. 422 by building new, wider bridges over the Schuylkill River and upgrading the highway between the Route 363 (Trooper Road) and Route 23 (Valley Forge Road) interchanges
