E-HISTORY FACT

Hampton Farm House
Built in 1690, the Hampton house was part of an active farm, well into the late 1950's. One of the decedents, John Hampton, was a member of the board of supervisors in the late 1870's. Upper Merion Township acquired the land in 1984. The board of supervisors at that time decided to leave the farm house, which is next to the township building, rather than have it destroyed. The barn was razed to accommodate the new township building. Sadly, the farm house was neglected and is now in total disrepair.
