E-HISTORY FACT
Buttonwood

The Roberts family has several connections to Upper Merion, in addition to a school and family cemetery. Buttonwood, the former home of Jonathan Roberts, US Senator from 1815-21, was build on family land that dates back to the 1600s. Part of the farmland was sold in 1915 to Valley Forge Memorial Gardens. The restored and beautifully maintained home, Buttonwood, is visible from South Gulph Rd.
