No Butts About It!
Carelessly tossed cigarette butts into flowered or mulched areas results in unnecessary litter, disruption of traffic, and emergency responses by the fire department. Message boards, coordinated by the King of Prussia Volunteer Fire Company and the UMPD, remind motorists not to toss cigarette butts.

Community Safety Day
A birds eye view captures members of the Upper Merion Police Department after kids and adults enjoyed getting their fingerprints taken, meeting K-9 Mike, McGruff, and Swoop while receiving safety literature.

The Montgomery County Department of Public Safety presented commendation awards to Deputy Chief Dwight Devera (far right) and Captain Kim McGrath of the Lafayette Ambulance Squad for their quick actions that resulted in a cardiac save.
Ladder 48
Swedeland Volunteer Fire Company members met to review the specifications for a new 100 foot ladder truck (Ladder 48) for Upper Merion Township. The anticipated arrival date is scheduled for January 2016.

POTUS Visits Park
On May 30, 1931, President Herbert Hoover visited Valley Forge Park. An estimated 35-40,000 people gathered to hear President Hoover's Memorial Day speech delivered in front of the Memorial Chapel. The President traveled to Betzwood via the PA Railroad, entering the park through Port Kennedy.

Ramp Closing
The ramp from Route 724 (Schuylkill Road) to U.S. 422 East will close on Wednesday, May 27 for the construction of a new ramp and for the reconstruction of the eastbound side of the U.S. 422 bridge over the Schuylkill River.
