Congratulations to Shannon Boyle who wed Bryan Schreur on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 3:00 PM at the Valley Forge Presbyterian Church on Town Center Road. After honeymooning in the Dominican Republic, the newlyweds, obliged the Public Information Office, and shared this photo. Both Shannon Boyle and Bryan Schreur are employees of Upper Merion Township.

Celebrating Service

Fire & Rescue services personnel are recognized for their years of service during the Board of Supervisors meeting on Thursday, October 16. Vice Chair Supervisor Erika Spott  presents the  Gutkowski Township Firefighter of the Year Award to Jim Gallagher. Looking on is  Township Fire Marshal and Safety and Codes Director John Waters.

 

 

 The Award Goes To...

UMGA-TV receives the Library Friend of the Year Award! This honor recognizes a person or organization that has exemplary supported the Library. Chief Information Officer Carla Showell-Lee accepted the award on behalf of UMGA-TV.  Television Services Coordinator Don Herbert could not attend. 

 

   
   Jazz Keeps It Real 

Jazz Night was a HUGE success!! Stephen Wise (Far Left) and the Edge performed at the Library on October 10 at 7:00 PM. The Library staff thanks everyone for participating.

Run or Walk

It's your choice. Feel the Warmth's 2nd Annual 5k Run, 1 Mile Walk & Children's Hero is on Saturday, October 18 at 9:00 AM at Reeve's Park on Main Street and 3rd Avenue in Phoenixville. Click here.   

 

All About Family

The Children's Hero Run on Saturday, October 18, supports Feel the Warmth. The run is for children 11 and under. Join your favorite super heroes who will cheer the Children's Hero runners to the finish line! (Costumes are optional for Children's Run participation)


Run, Walk, Shop 

The Sprint-N-Shop 5K Run & 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk is on Sunday, October 19 at the Philadelphia Premium Outlets. Runners and walkers will receive a gift bag with retailer swag and a free VIP savings coupon book for participating stores. Give Blood

The  Red Cross Blood Drive will be on Monday, November 3, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM in Freedom Hall.

Trick or Treat  
Bring the kids in their best Halloween outfits for a costume contest on Saturday, October 25. The Harvest Scarecrow  will lead the children around the Market for treats. The Optimist Club will be available for pumpkin decorating.

ON THE MOVE

Detour in Collegeville

Route 29 (First Avenue) will be closed and detoured between Ridge Pike and Route 113 (Bridge Road) in Collegeville Borough, on Saturday, October 18 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for the replacement of a deteriorated drainage.  

 

Slow Going

Route 422 has been reduced to one lane in both directions at the Route 363 Interchange from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM until Friday, October 24 for overhead bridge painting.

Make your our own clay pumpkins on Saturday October 18 at the Upper Merion Township Building. All supplies included. Pieces will be fired at the studio and ready for pick-up at the Township Building on October 25.

Fred Dixon will lecture on Picasso: His Art & His Women on October 30  at 7:00 PM at the Library.  Registration Required. 


 

Party w/ Captain Underpants

On Monday, November 3 from 6:30 - 7:30 PM. All 2nd through 4th graders are invited to "save the world" with this famous book character.  Register here.

All children in grades K-8 are invited to enter the 40th annual Write and Illustrate Your Own Book Contest.  Entries are due at the Library by 9:00 PM on Wednesday, October 22. Requirements here.
