The Montgomery County Health Department is offering FREE immunizations for Upper Merion Township residents in Freedom Hall on Tuesday, October 7, from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM.
Safe To Celebrate!
The Community Alliance for a Safer Tomorrow's (CAST) grant has been renewed for another year, and CAST is celebrating with cake and prizes on Wednesday, October 8 at 7:00 PM, at Upper Merion Area High School in the Large Group Instruction Room. Everyone is welcome to attend.
"Voices From Mt. Pleasant"
A special presentation about the history of one of Upper Merion's oldest and predominantly African- American neighborhoods will be held on Saturday, October 11 at 2:00 PM at Christ Church Old Swedes Hall. Click here.
Controlled Burn
The Valley Forge Park Ranger service will be initiating a controlled burn of an 18 acre meadow along Yellow Springs Road about a half mile west of the Knox Covered Bridge. More information here and here.
Help Plant Trees
Upper Merion Shade Tree Commission and Upper Merion Tree Tenders will be planting more than 30 trees in Whitegate Park on the morning of November 15. Volunteers are needed. Click here.

No Soliciting
The township's "no soliciting" signs can be obtained in the township building at the police desk, police records, the public information office and the cashier's office. The new ordinance went into effect September 23, 2014

Barktoberfest
We are celebrating man's and (woman's) best friend and their owners on Saturday, October 4. Everyone will get a bone magnet and doggie treats from Braxtons.
Metropolitan Vet Services and Perfect Pooch will have a table set up at the market. (Memories by Michelle) will be taking photos of your perfect little pooch (weather permitting). There will be prizes, treats, and a costume contest.
We're joining forces with the Swedesburg Fire Company to offer German platters with all the traditional fixings, plus hard pretzels and birch beer. More information here.
Road Trip
On Sunday, October 12, we're visiting A'Dello Vineyard and Winery in Perkiomenville, PA. Bus service is provided to the vineyard. Must be 21. Reserve your spot by contacting Lydia at manager@uppermerionfarmersmarket.com. A $5.00 registration fee must be paid in advance at the UMFM information booth.

Big Bingo
On Saturday, October 11, the UMSSC will be holding its 4th BIG Bingo. Doors open at 11:00 AM and the games begin at 12:00 PM. Lots of fun for everyone! Advance tickets are on sale now.
"Breaking Legs"
The UMSSC is hosting a trip on Tuesday, October 14 to the Hunterdon Hills Playhouse for a showing of the play "Breaking Legs." Tickets are on sale now!
Band Practice
Join the UMSSC band. The group practices every Tuesday from 1:30 to 2:30 PM at the Center, and is under the direction of Ed Hickman. Musicians age 55 and over are invited to join the band.

All children in Kindergarten through 8th grade are invited to enter the 40th annual "Write and Illustrate Your Own Book" contest. Entries are due to the Upper Merion Township Library by 9:00 PM on Wednesday, October 22.
Sensory Friendly Story Time!
This fun, family story time will be held on Saturday, October 11 at 10:30 AM in the Little Theater. It is planned for children ages 3 to 8 years old with special needs. Come out to enjoy great stories, sing songs, and meet new friends. Must register.
