UMSCC Visionaries

Mrs. Williams inspired the creation of the Upper Merion Senior Service Center while Mrs. Frailey served on the Board.

Let's Talk History
On Saturday, September 20, the Upper Merion Historical Society will participate in the 2014 Montgomery County History Day. This all day event at Heckler Plains Farmstead (237 Landis Road, Harleysville) will feature numerous activities for everyone. Click here for more information.

The largest outdoor Beer Festival is back!  The 3rd Annual King of Prussia Beerfest Royale will be held on October  2 and 4. The event features  50 plus craft and international brewers, more than 100 different beers, KOP's best restaurants, live music on two stages and so much more. Run or Walk 
It's all for a good cause. Feel The Warmth's 2nd Annual 5k Run, 1 Mile Walk & Children's Hero Run will be held on Saturday, October 18 at 9:00 AM in Reeve's Park (Main St. & 3rd Ave.) in Phoenixville.

Wheels For Wishes
This non-profit program picks up donated cars and recycles or auctions them and then donates the proceeds to Make-A-Wish Philadelphia, Northern Delaware, and Susquehanna Valley.  The program grants wishes to local kids. More information here.

The BOS Zoning Workshop will be held on Thursday, October 9 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by the BOS  Workshop at 7:30 PM. Both meetings will be  held in the board room.

Road Trip  

On Sunday, October 12, we're visiting A'Dello Vineyard and Winery in Perkiomenville, PA.Bus service will be provided to the vineyard. The van will leave the township building from the rear entrance. To reserve your spot, contact Lydia at manager@uppermerionfarmersmarket.com. A $5.00 registration fee must be paid in advance at the UMFM information booth. Must be 21 or over to attend.

Slow Down

Aqua Pennsylvania will restrict traffic for pavement restoration on U.S. Route 202 (DeKalb Pike) between Town Center Road and Henderson Road, in Upper Merion Township, on Thursday, September 25 through Saturday September 27 from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

Fall Fling Rewind

If you missed the 13th annual Senior Fall Fling, UMGA-TV will broadcast it in October. Help us plan next year's Fling by calling Mary McCree at 610-265-4715.  

 

Can You Play?

The Upper Merion Senior Service Center Band is looking for members. If you are 55, or older and can practice on Tuesdays, call us at 610-265-4715.

 

Tai Chi 

This is a great class to reduce your stress and anxiety, while  increasing your flexibility and balance. Tai Chi is offered on Wednesday's and it's FREE.

If your doctor says you need to learn to relax, sign up for Hatha Yoga. It's offered on Tuesday nights at 7:00 to 8:00 PM at Roberts Elementary School, beginning Tuesday, September 23.

Social Security Workshop

Winged Wonders Day

All About Jazz

Jazz Night will be held in Freedom Hall on October 10 at 7:00 PM. Stephen Wise and The Edge band will perform.  This popular annual event is sponsored by the Upper Merion Township Library Friends of Black History.
