"Stubby," the American Helicopter Museum's interactive
 traveling helicopter that is used to educate kids at local schools and public events, visited the Upper Merion Library's summer reading program.

Remembering 9/11

The 3rd Annual King of Prussia 9/11 Memorial 5K Run and 1 Mile fun walk will be held on September 14.  See flyer here and register here. 

 

Skate Park Fundraiser

Two upcoming fundraisers to support the proposed Skate Park are a Spaghetti fundraiser and a Clothing drive. 
 

Who Is Turning 100?

In the next edition of Township Lines, the Public Information Office will feature residents who have turned or are turning 100 years old this year. Submission date is August 20.  If you know someone please notify us at Umtinfo@umtownship.org

  

Free Service 

If you enroll in the Nurse Family Partnership, a Montgomery County Health Department program, a registered nurse will visit you in your home when you are pregnant and visits will continue until your child is two years old. The program is FREE for  eligible women. Visit: www.nursefamilypartnership.org.


 

Volunteers Needed  

Neighborhood Meals On Wheels provides meals to those who have difficulty shopping for food and preparing meals. Pack meals from 9:30 to 11:00 or deliver meals from 10:45 to 12:00. Mileage is tax deductible. Call 610-265-7051 for more information or e-mail info@neighborhoodmealsonwheels.com.

 

Pruning Workshops

Tree pruning is a fun activity if you learn how to do it correctly. Please note: The October 5 pruning event is at 3:00 PM at Heuser Park. See dates here.

Brian Seer, who is a new vendor, will be selling heirloom tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants.

Still Time - Sign Up

TAG members will meet in the Valley Forge Room for its book discussion on August 20, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Join the TAG Team and enjoy the outdoor book discussion. Meet us at the Valley Forge Room. FOR STUDENTS ENTERING GRADE 9 THROUGH 12 ONLY. Registration Required.

 

Movie Matinee

Join us for family movie time on Friday, August 22 at 2:00 PM in Freedom Hall.  We will be showing the cool science comedy movie, Flubber (PG).  No registration is required.

Let's Get Physical

Chair exercises are offered every Tuesday, from 11:30 AM to 12:15 PM, and Thursday at 12:30 PM to 1:15 PM. Line dancing is offered every Wednesday at 1:00 PM.    

 

Labor Day Closing

The UMSCC will be closed Friday, August 29 and Monday, September 1 for the Labor Day Holiday

 

Senior Fall Fling 

Celebrating the Best of Times  is the theme for the 13th Annual Senior Fall Fling on Thursday, September 18, 2014.

ON THE MOVE

Beep! Beep!

The westbound U.S. Route 422 off-ramp at Route 363 (Trooper Road) in West Norriton and Lower Providence townships will be closed from 9:00 PM Friday, Aug. 22 to 5:00 AM Monday, Aug. 25 for reconstruction and resurfacing.
