Mosquito Spray Scheduled
The Montgomery County Health Dept. (MCHD) scheduled a mosquito spray in three areas of Upper Merion Township. The spraying will take place on Tuesday, August 5. Rain Date: Tuesday, August 12. Click here.

Tree pruning is a fun activity if you learn how to do it correctly. Join us this summer and fall for pruning workshops sponsored by the Upper Merion Shade Tree Commission and the Upper Merion Tree Tenders.  Schedule listed here.

Middle School Final Jeopardy Night

Join us Monday, August 4 from 7:00 PM to - 8:00 PM in Freedom Hall, for the Middle School Final Jeopardy Night. Three finalists from our weekly competitions throughout the summer will compete. The show will be broadcast!  No registration is required.

 

TAG Book Discussion

On August 20, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, join the TAG Team and enjoy the outdoor discussion on the book, The Help. Meet in the Valley Forge Room. Students entering grades 9 through 12 are welcome. Registration Required.

Yard Waste Collection

It begins Tuesday, September 2 and ends Thursday, October 23, 2014. Here is a list of the items that can and can not be collected.

 

Knock, Knock! 

Aqua Pennsylvania will be in your neighborhood.  As part of its  continuing infrastructure improvement program, Aqua PA, Inc. (Aqua) will replace the existing 6-inch cast iron water main, installed in 1929, on the following street in Upper Merion and West Conshohocken Borough, Montgomery County.    


ON THE MOVE 

Stay Alert
Nighttime travel restrictions will be  in place on northbound U.S. Route 202 in the area of the U.S. Route 422 Interchange in Tredyffrin Township, Chester County, and Upper Merion Township, due to pavement patching. Dates/Times: Sunday, August 3, through Friday, August 8 from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM. 

 

Bridge Inspections

The right lane will be closed on the northbound Dannehower Memorial Bridge on Thursday, Aug. 14 in Upper Merion Township and Norristown Borough at 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24/7. The site provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and gives access to more than 700 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1.

SENIOR CENTER

Casino Trip 

On Monday, August 18, Resorts Casino in Atlantic City in collaboration with the Wayne Senior Center is sponsoring a casino trip. Bus departs from UMSSC at 9:00 AM and returns at approximately 6:00 PM. Cost: $25.00 per person, which  includes $25.00 free slot play.  Must complete registration form by Monday, August 11.
