"WELCOME TARGET SHOPPERS"
It took about a year and a half of construction to see America's second biggest retailer open its doors in the Valley Forge Shopping Center at 160 DeKalb Pike.  It will provide 800 parking spaces, half of which will be underground. 
Target opened its doors Wednesday, July 23, 2014.





Dedicated Service
Traffic Safety Sergeant, Andrew Andreyko, retired on July 24, 2014, after 31 years of dedicated service to the Upper Merion Township Police Department.

Children have been seen playing in the lobby's planted beds and treating the township building like it's a playground. We ask parents to teach their children about respecting the property of others.   


 
Pruning Workshops

Tree pruning is a fun activity if you learn how to do it correctly. Join us this summer and fall for pruning workshops sponsored by the Upper Merion Shade Tree Commission and the Upper Merion Tree Tenders.  Schedule listed here.
 
Rowing Lessons Anyone?

Stars On The Move

PUBLIC WORKS

Yard Waste Collection

It begins Tuesday, September 2, and ends Thursday, October 23, 2014. Here is a list of the items that can and can not be collected.

 

3rd Street Closure

Tru-Line Contractors is installing a sanitary sewer force main just west of the intersection of 3rd Street and River Road. This installation will take place from July 29, through July 31.  
 



ON THE MOVE 

Slow Going 

Overnight pavement patching operations are scheduled for July 28-31 from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM  at the U.S. Route 422/U.S. Route 202 Interchange. The roadwork is part of the $4.4 million project that began last month to repair and resurface Route 202 and Route 422 where the two expressways connect.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24/7. The site provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and gives access to more than 700 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1.

Are You Registered?

Please register for the 13th Annual Senior Fall Fling by clicking here.  Mark your calendars for Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 9:45 AM. Where? 1st level of The Pavilion in the King of Prussia  Mall. The Fling is free to senior residents of the UMASD.  Deadline: September 5. Theme: Celebrating the Best of Times.  

 

Nutrition Program 

On Mondays ONLY, from now through September 29, checks (with a value of $20 per person or $40 per couple) are available to seniors, age 60+, living on limited household income.  The checks can be redeemed at participating farmers markets (including UMFM). The checks are available at the UMSSC on Mondays only between 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.  

 

Money Matters
