TOWNSHIP STORIES

Story of The Flag

Arthur "Art" Powell touched many lives during his time spent as man of the community and as a businessman responsible for much significant development in Upper Merion Township. Arthur was a generous a philanthropist who supported and endowed many local non-profit organizations that touched the lives of many residents. The Township flag was lowered for a day in memory of Mr. Powell.

Tricentennial Mural Project

The recent placement of the restored, "George Washington Reviewing His Troops at Valley Forge" on the side of Colonial Electric Company's location along Henderson Road was a highlight of the Tricentennial year. This week a thank you sign was placed next to the mural recognizing all of the organizations and families who helped make this beautiful testament to our Township's history visible for all to see. Thank you all for helping us preserve the past while shaping the future.
