Celebrating Emergency Responders
The Board of Supervisors issued a proclamation recognizing National Police Week and EMS Week, a time to acknowledge and thank the Township's emergency services personnel for their hard work and keeping the community safe. This proclamation was issued to Police Chief Thomas Nolan (pictured in the top right). Immediately following this proclamation a new officer, named Dylan Kull, was sworn in (pictured in the top left). Finally, four officers were promoted: Lieutenant James Early to Captain, Sergeant James Tees to Lieutenant, Corporal Declan Coyle to Sergeant, and Officer Patrick Krouse to Corporal. These promoted officers were sworn in at their new ranks and the their families came forward to pin their badges on (pictured in the bottom three pictures).
40 Years Of ServiceOn May 13th, Neighborhood Meals On Wheels celebrated 40 years of delivering meals to the homebound in Upper Merion - with a luncheon for all their volunteers. We look forward to their next 40 years of service to our community. In the picture above, from left to right are Nancy Brown (President), Valerie Leone, (Coordinator), Bitsy Schravesande, (Former President), Crystal Walker (Coordinator). Bitsy has been a volunteer since day one! Upper Merion Relay For Life The Board of Supervisors issued a proclamation on Thursday, May 15 recognizing the Upper Merion Relay For Life organization for its fundraising on behalf of the American Cancer Society. The annual Relay For Life is kicking off tomorrow. Join in the fun on May 17-18 at the Upper Merion Area High School track and help fight back against cancer! Activities will be available for all ages and all are welcome to take part. Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. More information.

Celebrating 5th Anniversary!
Mark your calendar! We are celebrating our 5th anniversary with a chicken barbecue on Saturday, May 17. We are selling tickets at the Farmers Market booth during the Earth Day celebration! Cost? $8.00 for a platter of a 1/2 chicken and two sides. The event will be held in conjunction with the Swedesburg Fire Company.

Pancake Breakfast
You are invited to a pancake breakfast at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Saturday June 14th from 8:00 - 10:30am. The cost is $8 per adult and $4 for children six and under. Save The Earth
Compost bins and rain barrels are on sale. This "one day only" event will be held on Saturday, May 17 from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM, at the Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell. More information here.
Road Work On Powderhorn Road (Between Forge & Flintlock Roads)
Work is currently underway on the water main on Powderhorn Road, which will improve service for local residents. Work hours are from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM and are expected to conclude in June.

Don't miss a Special Story Time treat!
Please join us on Tuesday, May 20 from 2-2:30 PM in the Little Theater for a special "bird" theme story time, presented by a team of amazing UM Middle School Students. Children ages 3 - 5 and their parents/caregivers are invited to attend this fun story time with great books, songs, and even a scavenger hunt. Parents must attend with their children. Registration required.
Get ready to dance!
Join us as we dance our socks off to fun, upbeat music at a kids Dance Party on Tuesday, June 3 in the Henderson Room. The Toddler session (kids ages 2 - 3 1/2) will be from 10:30 - 11 AM and the Preschool session (kids ages 3 1/2 - 5) will be from 2 - 2:30 PM. Experiment with cool musical instruments and dance and sing along to some fun, children's songs. Space is limited, so register today!
