Time Capsule Interment Ceremony
Another moment in Upper Merion history was celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday May 1 at the Upper Merion Township Building. Township officials and residents gathered to watch a time capsule with a historic cache of informational items lowered into the ground for safe keeping until 2114. The event concluded with the Rambler birthday celebration. One event closed a chapter in township history and the other set the tone for driving Upper Merion into the future.

Police Commendations The Upper Merion Police Department recognized several officers with police commendations at the Board of Supervisors meeting on Thursday, April 24 for going above and beyond the call of duty. Mark your calendar! We are celebrating our 5th anniversary with a chicken barbeque on Saturday, May 17. We are selling tickets at the Farmers Market booth during the Earth Day celebration!!!! Cost? $8.00 for chicken platter of thigh, drumstick, and two sides. The event will be held in conjunction with the Swedesburg Fire Company.

Mental Health Awareness Month - May
The Community Alliance for a Safer Tomorrow (CAST) is sponsoring a Mental Health Panel Discussion on Monday, May 12, at the Upper Merion Middle School, (Room C-230) from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Presenters from the Minding Your Mind Foundation will discuss the connection between mental health issues and substance abuse. The event is FREE and open to the public. Class Act - Thank you!
As part of their Earth Day celebration, Mrs. Regent's Candlebrook Elementary School students beautified the township's Community Butterfly Garden, located in the Township Building Park. This garden relies on the community for care; everyone is welcome to tend to it. Thank you students!

The O'Grady family was recognized at the 2014 Earth Day celebration. The family uses exceptional green practices by conserving everyday uses of energy. .

No more playing cops and robbers: experience the real thing this summer. The Cop Camp program begins Monday, June 16 from 9:00 AM SHARP to 1:00 PM at Heuser Park.
