Funding Update
Capitol
As Congress struggles with leadership and agenda issues, we continue to make the case for increased Peace Corps funding should an opportunity present itself in the coming weeks.

And, very soon, we will be launching a new tool to help your advocacy.

NPCA has contracted with a software company specializing in a service that will allow you to send messages to Congress more quickly and efficiently, while still giving you the means to personalize your messages.

Look for our launch of this new resource in the coming days with an important Peace Corps funding action alert!

Affiliate Group Letter to the President
Former Senator Harris Wofford (c) joined NPCA staff for a meeting with the White House Office of Management and Budget.

Along with discussing the current budget situation, NPCA delivered a letter sent to the President, in which 101 affiliate groups urged strong funding for the Peace Corps as work begins on the next - Fiscal Year 2017 - budget request to Congress.

Empowerment Through Education
NPCA President Glenn Blumhorst joined RPCV Congressman Sam Farr (photo) and Peace Corps Director Carrie Hessler-Radelet at a Capitol Hill Briefing on October 8th.

In conjunction with the International Day of the Girl Child, the well attended briefing focused on global empowerment for women and girls through education.

Featured Advocates: District Meeting Participants
We couldn't choose just one featured advocate this month.

That's because we wanted to recognize all of the fantastic citizen advocates who participated in our annual district advocacy meetings. There's still a few more meetings to be held, and when they wrap up, we will have reached a new milestone.

Peace Corps Caucus

The request of just one constituent can make a difference when it comes to members of the House of Representatives joining the House Peace Corps Caucus.

Follow this link and take action to grow the bi-partisan cacucus beyond its 81 members from last year.

Global Issues Advocacy

Climate change is our global advocacy issue of the month. As world leaders are preparing for the UN Climate Conference in Paris in December, so are climate change advocates who say now is the time for action.
