With Funding from NPCA / Water Charity, RPCV Returns to Finish the Job
NPCA and its partner Water Charity have implemented new water and sanitation programs in East and Western Africa. All projects under the programs are being carried out under the direction of PCVs and RPCVs -- like Zambia RPCV Emily McKeone. With funding secured from an anonymous donor, the programs have a combined development target of $4.2 million. In addition, planning is underway for a new program in Southern Africa ... 

Peace Corps Commemorative Work Design Competition Enters Phase II
Washington D.C. is home to the Peace Corps, NPCA, and soon, a Peace Corps commemorative work. 

In early March 2015, the Peace Corps Commemorative Foundation launched Stage I of the design competition. From June 13th to June 26th, the 12 members of the Stage I jury - including nationally acclaimed architects, landscape architects, artists, historians, and several Returned Peace Corps Volunteers - reviewed all the submitted designs, then convened on June 27th in Washington to deliberate and recommend finalists for Stage II, as well as identify concepts for honorable mention ...

The conference itself will take place on Friday and Saturday (Sept. 23-24) and will be preceded by the National Day of Action on Thursday September 22.

In Memoriam

Wednesday (August 19) was World Humanitarian Daya day designated by the United Nations to honor "those who have lost their lives in humanitarian service and those who continue to bring assistance and relief to millions. The Day also seeks to draw attention to humanitarian needs worldwide and the importance of international cooperation in meeting these needs." Many of our Facebook fans appreciated that we recognized the Day.
