Share your suggestions in our summer newsletter
|
As the academic year winds down here in the northern hemisphere, we invite you to share your suggestions for the summer. Do you have any great "global" books to recommend? Did you develop a new lesson? Or perhaps you are looking to collaborate on a project. Whatever your global topic, we invite you to submit it for publication in our quarterly NPCA Global Education News.
Please send any resources, websites, book reviews, lessons, etc. that would be of interest and/or useful for our readers to our editor, Susan Neyer, at susanneyer@astound.net right away. She would like to get the newsletter out later this month, so that you can head to the library before you head off on vacation! Download past newsletters

Have you applied yet for an Education Small Grant?
|
Did you know that you are eligible for a small grant (up to $500) for your global education project? The NPCA's education small grants for members and member groups are awarded quarterly to fund community projects/events that promote Peace Corps' Third Goal. This goal is to "strengthen Americans' understanding about the world and its peoples" by way of returned and current volunteers, as well as friends of the Peace Corps, sharing their Peace Corps experience and host country culture. These grants are intended to educate Americans about other peoples and countries of the world. The project must be short term (less than one month) and of a local scope and scale. Projects will engage with local schools, libraries, and/or community organizations.
Next application deadline: August 1
