Immerse your Students on a "Mini Peace Corps" Experience
|
There's nothing more powerful to open your students' eyes to the world than immersing them in it. Add to that a volunteer project in a local community and the perspective of Peace Corps and you have a combination that could be life-changing.
Priscilla Garcia said it best in her article in our Fall Global Education News on her recent trip to Thailand with NPCA's Next Step Travel: "Staying in one place and really experiencing the Thai people and their culture was terrific. This was a 'mini Peace Corps' experience." It's an experience you can't get anywhere else but through Next Step Travel.
Now this experience is available as a custom trip reserved for you and your students to Guatemala, the Dominican Republic or Thailand. For groups of eight to twenty, the cost of one chaperone is included.
Visit our website to learn more about our Next Step Travel trips, then contact us to start your planning.

First Education Small Grant Awarded to Atlanta Area Returned Peace Corps Volunteers
|
The turn-around time was tight. Atlanta Area Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (AARPCV) had a project planned out, had found a number of other partners and sponsors, but needed just that last bit of funding to make it happen. A perfect fit for an NPCA Education Small Grant. Congratulations, AARPCV, on winning our first grant to launch your inaugural international fall film festival!
"This inaugural international fall film festival will establish an engaging mechanism for AARPCV to facilitate ongoing collaboration to raise awareness, to share experiences, to promote a dynamic dialogue of important issues around the world, and to offer opportunities for ongoing education and action. This annual event will also help to raise awareness about Peace Corps and AARPCV throughout the region."
Watch NPCA's and AARPCV's websites for news on the film festival and make your plans to attend!
