Articles due for Fall Global Education Newsletter
As the academic year gets off to a start here in the northern hemisphere, we invite you to share how you spent your summer.  Did you develop a new lesson?  Or travel and learn something new?  Or perhaps one of your students wants to share what they've learned from their travels.  Whatever your global topic, we invite you to submit it for publication in our quarterly NPCA Global Education News.

Please send any resources, websites, book reviews, lessons, etc. that would be of interest and/or useful for our readers to our editor, Susan Neyer, at [email protected]She would like to get items by September 19, or at least know by then to expect them.

NPCA Launches New Education Small Grants Program

We are pleased to announce a new small grants program for members and member groups with grants of up to $500 awarded quarterly to fund community projects/events that promote Peace Corps' Third Goal. This goal is to "strengthen Americans' understanding about the world and its peoples" by way of returned and current volunteers, as well as friends of the Peace Corps, sharing their Peace Corps experience and host country culture. These grants are intended to educate Americans about other peoples and countries of the world. The project must be short term (less than one month) and of a local scope and scale. Projects will engage with local schools, libraries, and/or community organizations.



Global Education Conference 2014: Looking for Student Presenters
Students are invited independently and with their teachers to consider sharing activities that connect them and their learning environment with the world. Proposals can be submitted from now until November 15. The conference is held online from November 17 - 22, 2014.
