The New Director

It was a long time coming.

But last Thursday when the Senate took up the nomination of Carrie Hessler-Radelet to be the next Peace Corps Director, they acted faster than you can say "The toughest job you'll ever love!"

Send Carrie a Message of Congratulations

One of Carrie Hessler-Radelet's first public appearances as Director will be in less than two weeks when she joins us at Peace Corps Connect-Nashville!

We want to present her with a booklet including hundreds of congratulatory messages from the Peace Corps community and other supporters!  Please send us your message no later than next Monday, June 16th.  Here's all you have to do:
  • Please keep your message brief (1-3 sentences)
  • Please include your name and (if applicable) your Peace Corps years and country of service
  • Send messages to advocintern@peacecorpsconnect.org
  • Put "Message for Carrie" in the subject line

Appropriations, Anyone?
Peace Corps funding soon goes before congressional Appropriations Committees.  If your lawmaker is on the Senate or House Subcommittee for State and Foreign Operations, contact them now and ask them to support a $400 million appropriation for the Peace Corps in Fiscal Year 2015.

June Featured Advocate - Marjory Clyne

Over the years, our June featured advocate has taken on many different leadership roles both with the San Diego Peace Corps Association (SDPCA) and other groups providing services to the city.

When SDPCA's group president announced last year that the group was seeking a volunteer to serve as the region's advocacy coordinator, Marjory Clyne became increasingly interested.

Then, Marjory did was she does best.  She volunteered!

Double Your Clout!
If everyone receiving this committed to finding just one more person to join this network, we would grow to 30,000 advocates!
