Action Needed Now on Peace Corps Funding

In the aftermath of NPCA's National Day of Action comes a key opportunity to build support for Peace Corps funding in the House of Representatives.

All five Returned Peace Corps Volunteers who serve in the House are circulating a letter to their colleagues, asking them to urge support for $400 Million for the Peace Corps in Fiscal Year 2014.

Follow this link to take action now! And, with the House scheduled to begin its spring recess, look for opportunities to approach your Congressman/woman back home and ask them to "sign the House Peace Corps Funding Dear Colleague letter".

Why Pat Wand supports NPCA through the Legacy of Peace

"I am optimistic that NPCA can meet today's and tomorrow's challenges. One way is to encourage people to step forward and include NPCA in their wills or through some form of planned giving."

Board Member Pat Wand recently notified the National Peace Corps Association (NPCA) of her decision to include NPCA in her will, which makes her a member of our Legacy of Peace Society. We interviewed her to ask her why and how she made the decision and if she'd encourage others to do the same....

Survey:  Sociologist Studying Impact of the Peace Corps

Several times a year, the National Peace Corps Association receives inquiries from researchers and reporters looking into topics connected to the Peace Corps, the international volunteer experience, or the work of the NPCA.

One month it could be a student from Taiwan interested in the use of social media by nonprofit organizations. Another month it could be someone like Meghan Kallman, an organizational sociologist working on her PhD at Brown University, who contacted us back in October...
