Creating lifelong Jewish connections, one happy camper at a time.
December, 2015
A Note from Rabbi Joel Seltzer, Executive Director

Inclusion has a Name, but What is it?

As you know, Camp Ramah in the Poconos is excited to open our Tikvah Residential Program this summer; opening our doors to campers with significant developmental and cognitive special needs and warmly welcoming them into our fabulous Ramah Community. Our Tikvah Residential Program joins the special needs offerings already in existence at Ramah Day Camp and Tikvah Family Camp, allowing Camp Ramah in the Poconos to offer a full-continuum of camp offerings for children with special needs in our Jewish community.

But - here is where we need your help!
1)      If you know of a family who might have interest in our programs - please let us know!
2)      We need a NAME for this fabulous 'new edah' (division)!

We are happy to announce the official opening of the 'Name the New Tikvah
Edah at Camp Ramah in the Poconos Contest'!

Here are the rules:
1)      The name must be in Hebrew of course (#MeahMillim)! Think of words that would be appropriate for this group of campers, you can always use Google Translate!
2)      Only one submission per person!
3)      There can be multiple winners - after all, everyone's a winner at Camp Ramah.

Submit your entry by clicking here!

The winners will win a prize!

We hope that you will join us in participating in this contest - and most importantly for supporting our desires to create a more-inclusive community!

L'Shalom,

Rabbi Joel Seltzer

News from Ramah Day Camp
A Note from Ramah Day Camp
By Eileen Graub, Assistant Director

As you light the Hanukkiah, eat latkes and sufganiyot (jelly doughnuts) and enjoy your family, remember the wonder of the summer your children spent with Ramah Day Camp. Your children feel the magic of Ramah not only in the summer, but, all year long. We miss our Ramah family during this festive holiday and we want to keep the feeling of community going during the winter season. Please share our first open house of the season with your friends and family. They can join us on Sunday, December 6th to celebrate Hanukkah with us. We will make s'mores, enjoy fun and creative activities and play dreidel. You should also put Sunday, January 24th, on your calendar for our Ramah Day Camp reunion. Meet us at the Sports Zone in Southampton, PA from 4- 6pm for an evening filled with fun and friends. I hope that you and your family have a wonderful holiday.
