Graduation 2013
Deadline to apply for A.A./A.S. degree and certificate of achievement or accomplishment: Friday, March 29
May 24, 2013, 7 p.m. - Graduation ceremony at Viking Stadium (weather permitting). The commencement ceremony and celebration are open to students who earned a degree or certificate for summer or fall 2012, or spring 2013. Students who have applied for and who have met the requirements for a degree or certificate will be sent detailed information in early May about graduation.
Graduation Speaker application period closes April 5. Must be a 2012-13 graduate/candidate (summer 2012, fall 2012, spring 2013). Applications available online or in the Vice President's of Student Services Office.
Early graduation for priority registration - In order to give students who are close to graduation an advantage in registering for the remaining classes needed in their last semester, students may apply for an early registration appointment by submitting an Early Application to Graduate in the semester before their planned graduation date. Students taking advantage of this opportunity will receive early registration (one time only) for the semester they intend to graduate. Click here for more information. Application deadline for fall 2013 graduation: April 15.

ASDVC Elections - April 9 and 10

Let your voice be heard!
Associated Students of DVC (ASDVC) is your student government at DVC, responsible for representing DVC students' perspectives on college and district committees and advocating for and responding to students' needs. On Tuesday, April 9 and Wednesday, April 10, you will have your chance to vote for the 2013-14 ASDVC executive board. Election polls will be open from 9 a.m.- 6:45 p.m. at both the Pleasant Hill and San Ramon
Campuses at the following locations: Pleasant Hill: Margaret Lesher Student Union Building, Conference Room and San Ramon: SRC Learning Commons.
For more information about each of our candidates and to hear their respective platforms and visions, please join us on Wednesday, April 3, 12-2 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill Campus Student Union Plaza for an informative and lively Candidate Forum.
If you are interested in learning more about ASDVC, please attend the next ASDVC board meeting. Weekly ASDVC board meetings are held on Tuesdays, 2-4 p.m. in the Student Union Conference Room.

EOPS program reminders
Priority registration dates for EOPS students for the summer 2013 and fall 2013 semesters are quickly approaching. Check your InSite/WebAdvisor or inquire in the EOPS Office to find out your priority registration date and time. Don't forget your EOPS counselors can help you plan your upcoming classes. Appointments fill up quickly, so drop by the EOPS Office or Counseling Center to schedule your appointment.
To stay in good standing with the EOPS program for next semester, be sure to complete your two required EOPS counseling appointments, one required peer advisor drop-in visit, and mandatory progress reports.

Educational Talent Search and Upward Bound Programs at DVC
The Educational Talent Search Program seeks paid Teacher Assistants (TA) and volunteer tutors for spring and summer 2013.
We are looking for DVC students interested in becoming math and science teachers at the secondary level. The Teacher Assistants (TA) will get paid to work with students in classrooms at local middle/high schools or at DVC. In the summer the TA's can work from 8:30 a.m.-12:20 p.m. on the DVC campus.
The volunteer tutors will work at DVC helping middle and high school students with completing homework assignments, Monday - Thursday from 3:30-5:30 p.m. during spring and Monday - Thursday 8:30-12:20 p.m. during the summer.
The Upward Bound Program seeks paid and volunteer tutors to work with high school students at local high schools during the following time periods this summer:
Monday - Thursday, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Monday - Thursday, 3:30-6 p.m.
Saturdays at DVC, 11-2 p.m.

Book Center reminders
Spring rental books must be returned by May 28 to avoid penalties. You can bring your books to the main cash registers inside the store. Store hours for the Pleasant Hill Campus book center are: Monday - Thursday 7:45 a.m. - 7 p.m., and Friday 7:45 a.m.-3 p.m. Store hours for the San Ramon Campus book center are: Monday - Thursday 8 a.m. - 6:30 p.m., closed Fridays.

Campus Alert System Your attention please...
A loud siren will be heard throughout the DVC campuses the first Wednesday of every month at 11 a.m. This will be a test of our Campus Alert System. There is nothing you need to do during a siren test.
In the event of an actual emergency or crisis situation, the siren sound will continue for three minutes. Students and all campus personnel will be instructed to Shelter, Shut, and Listen. Free E-Waste recycling event at both Diablo Valley College campuses. Drop off items Saturday, April 6 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. in Pleasant Hill (DVC Overflow Parking Lot #7) and in San Ramon (back parking lot). Visit noewaste.com for more information and list of accepted electronic items.
