2013-2014 Financial Aid Workshops

The priority filing deadline for FAFSA and Cal Grant is fast approaching. Note that the March 2 deadline has been extended to March 4 due to the weekend. If you need assistance visit the Welcome Center for the FAFSA Lab Workshop. Details below.

Financial aid staff will be providing online assistance.

 

2013-2014 California Dream Act Application 

The California Dream Act Application must be completed by March 2.  Visit here for links and more information. If you need assistance, please visit the Financial Aid Office. 

 

Cal Grant GPA Verification Processing

If you are enrolled for the spring 2013 term and have completed at least 24 units GPA verifications will be sent electronically to the California Student Aid Commission by the Admissions and Records Office. Students who have academic transcripts on file from previously attended institutions must complete the paper GPA Verification Form and submit to the Admissions and Records Office for processing.  

 

2013-2014 FAFSA Application Completion

If you miss the priority deadline date for completing the FAFSA, you can still apply at  www.fafsa.gov through the last day of the 2013 spring semester.  Watch the DVC Financial Aid webpage for additional workshop dates and times if you need assistance with completing the FAFSA form. 

 

IT'S NOT TOO LATE to complete the 2012-2013 FAFSA!

Eligible students may receive retroactive disbursements for the 2012 fall semester. Apply at www.fafsa.gov.

 

2012-2013 Dream Act Fee Waiver

It's not too late to complete the California Dream Act and Board of Governor's Fee Waiver for the 2012-2013 academic year for AB540 students who wish to have their eligibility determined for the fee waiver for the 2013 spring semester.  Visit www.cccapply.org for links to the applications. You may also print and submit a paper application

 

2012-2013 Student Loan Requests 

Student Loan Request forms must be submitted to the Financial Aid Office by March 28 for processing for the 2012-2013 academic year.

San Ramon A.A./A.S. degree and certificate of achievement/accomplishment filing period

Now-March 29 (for spring 2013)

 

May 24, 2013, 7 p.m. - Graduation ceremony at Viking Stadium (weather permitting). The commencement ceremony and celebration are open to students who earned a degree or certificate for summer or fall 2012, or spring 2013. Students who have applied for and who have met the requirements for a degree or certificate will be sent detailed information in early May about graduation.

 

Graduation Speaker application period closes April 5. Must be a 2012-13 graduate/candidate (summer 2012, fall 2012, spring 2013). Applications available online or in Vice President's of Student Services Office.

 

Early graduation for priority registration - In order to give students who are close to graduation an advantage in registering for the remaining classes needed in their last semester, students may apply for an early registration appointment by submitting an Early Application to Graduate in the semester before their planned graduation date. Students taking advantage of this opportunity will receive early registration (one time only) for the semester they intend to graduate. Click here for more information.

 

Application period for summer 2013 graduation: January 15 - February 28. Application period for fall 2013 graduation: March 1 - April 15.

Summer Job and Internship Fair!

Attend this upcoming event to prepare for the job fair: Job Fair Basics: Setting yourself apart from the crowd, presented by an employer on Wednesday, March 5, 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. in the Career, Employment and Transfer Center.

Educational Talent Search and Upward Bound Programs at DVC

The Educational Talent Search Program seeks paid Teacher Assistants (TA) and volunteer tutors for spring and summer 2013.

 

We are looking for DVC students interested in becoming math and science teachers at the secondary level. The Teacher Assistants (TA) will get paid to work with students in classrooms at local middle/high schools or at DVC.

The volunteer tutors will work at DVC helping middle and high school students with completing homework assignments, Monday through Thursday from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m.

The Upward Bound Program seeks paid and volunteer tutors to work with high school students at local high schools (Tuesday - Thursday from 3 - 6 p.m.) and at DVC (Saturdays from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.) and in the summer (Monday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.)

California state regulations have changed regarding the ability to repeat non-repeatable credit courses.

If you are thinking of dropping or withdrawing from a class that you have already unsuccessfully attempted in a prior semester, please  read this first!

Campus Alert System
Your attention please... 

A loud siren will be heard throughout the DVC campuses the first Wednesday of every month at 11 a.m. This will be a test of our Campus Alert System. There is nothing you need to do during a siren test. 


In the event of an actual emergency or crisis situation, the siren sound will continue for three minutes. Students and all campus personnel will be instructed to Shelter, Shut, and Listen.
