$1.00 SALE SPECIALS!
Buy One Of The Bottles Below & Buy The Same Brand, Second Bottle for Only $1.00. This Same Purchase May Be Repeated.
- 2012 Girard, Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley: Our price is $19.00 and get the second bottle for $1.00: Aromatics lean towards bright citrus, lemon peel and tropical notes. On the palate the citrus notes define themselves as lime zest with a touch of grapefruit. Tropical notes help round out the palate with hints of mango. Bright acidity helps cleanse the palate.
-
2009 Testarossa, Chardonnay, Santa Barbara County: Winery retail is $23.00, our price is $19.00 and get the second bottle for $1.00: "Yellow hue. Unique blend of apple, mango, passion-fruit, and guava in the aroma profile of this wine. Upon taste, this wine shows focus with only notes of mango and butterscotch. While there is some good mid-palate richness, the vibrant acidity of this wine helps maintain balance through the finish. Drink now through 2014." *Winemaker's notes
-
2011 Domaine J.C. Pichot, Vouvray, Domaine Le Peu de la Moriette, Loire Valley: Our price is $24.00 and get the second bottle for $1.00: Has a very perfumed nose, with very fresh acidity given the rich texture of the wine. Some pineapple and sugary apple, crystallized ginger and sweet Meyer lemon, too. Candied lemon slices, like lemonade, very citric. A finish of apple skin and cloves and pink grapefruit.
-
2010 Domaine Serene, White Pinot Noir, Coeur Blanc, Dundee Hills, Oregon: Our price is $99.00 and get the second bottle for $1.00: Winemaker Note - "Coeur Blanc is a unique, barrel-fermented white wine made from fully mature, 100% estate-grown Pinot Noir grapes. It is full-bodied, richly textured and has a flavor profile that captures both the red and white wine characteristics of our cool climate growing region. With aromas of white rose, apple, stone fruit, and spice, this rich and velvety white wine offers balanced acidity, a creamy texture and a silky smooth finish. Often imitated but never equaled, Coeur Blanc is one of the most highly revered wines of its kind."
-
2010 MacPhail, Pinot Noir, Toulouse Vineyard, Anderson Valley, 90 pts., Wine Enthusiast: Our price is $59.00 and get the second bottle for $1.00: "This is so rich and saturated you can taste the sunshine in every sip. It bursts across the palate with bright, jammy raspberry and cherry flavors. It may not have great subtlety or ageworthiness, but it excels for its sheer deliciousness".
-
2006 Bertani, Due Uve, Pinot Noir & Corvina, Veneto: Our price is $29.00 and get the second bottle for $1.00: Due Uve Rosso is the result of a judicious combination of Pinot Noir and Corvina, a unique blend which brings out the best in both varieties. An indigenous Valpolicella grape together with one of the best known varieties in the world, both sharing the same supple tannins, ruby red colour and hints of red fruit. The Pinot Noir gives a nose of raspberries and strawberries, while the Corvina provides a taste of cherry and plum. From this unique combination Bertani has created a wine of outstanding personality and style
-
2009 Schulz Cellars, Zinfandel, Lampyridae Vineyard, Napa Valley, 90 pts., Wine Enthusiast: Our price is $39.00 and get the second bottle for $1.00: Marked by substantial fruit, this Zin offers a burst of ripe blackberries, blueberries and black cherries, spiced with cinnamon and cloves, and clothed in smoky, sweetly toasted oak.
- 2008 JC Cellars, Zinfandel, Sweetwater Springs, Russian River Valley, 93 pts., Parker: Our price is $49.00 and get the second bottle for $1.00: Wild Raspberry, with subtle hints of dark chocolate swirled in a sweet cream sauce and the obligatory briary notes, make this an organoleptic smorgasbord. Showing what a steeply planted vineyard can do in the cool climate of Russian River is what this wine is all about! Pure intensity, like watching a redheaded
snowboarder doing back to back jumps down the snow-pipe. Yeah just like that! -
2010 Girard Artistry, Proprietary Blend, Napa Valley: Our price is $49.00 and get the second bottle for $1.00: A proprietary blend of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc, 13% Petite Verdot, 8% Malbec and 7% Merlot all grown in Oakville, Yountville and St. Helena in the Napa Valley. The varietals and percentages change from year to year, with a goal of keeping the wine consistent in quality and style. The grapes were hand sorted and gently crushed. Native yeasts are used for fermentation and the wine underwent malolactic fermentation in the barrel. After primary fermentation the wine went through an extended maceration period to soften the tannins in the wine. The wine was aged 22 months in 50% new French oak and 50% once-used French oak and then bottled unfined and unfiltered.
-
2008 Corison Winery, Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, 92 pts., Parker, 375 ml.: Our price is $59.00 and get the second bottle for $1.00: The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon comes across as very classic in its mid-weight body and flavor profile. Dark plums, herbs, cassis and tobacco are some of the aromas and flavors that emerge from this beautifully delineated, elegant Cabernet Sauvignon. This isn't a blockbuster, but rather a wine that impresses for its understated finesse. The 2008 can be enjoyed today, but looks to have a wonderful evolution ahead of it as the tertiary aromas develop in bottle. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2023.
-
2005 Telmo Rodriguez, Matallana, Ribera del Duero, 94+pts., Parker: Our Price $149.00 and Get the Second Bottle for $1.00. "The 2005 Matallana was sourced from a biodynamically farmed vineyard with crushing done by foot. It was aged for 20 months in 50% new French oak. Purple in color, it has a brooding nose of pain grille, graphite, espresso, incense and a potpourri of black fruits, Youthful on the palate, it has plenty of ripe tannin that will require 5-7 years of cellaring. However, the wine has all the right stuff, and it is only a matter of time before my score will appear conservative.
-
2004 La Spinetta, Barbaresco, Vigneto Starderi, Piedmonte, 95 pts., Parker: Our price is $159.00 and get the second bottle for $1.00: "A knock-out effort. A dark, brooding wine it reveals an array of dark cherries, spices, tar and smoke in a powerful, sinewy style. With each passing moment, it seemingly turns more and more classic in the glass, with only the super-ripe fruit serving as a reminder that this is a more contemporary wine. The balance and use of oak are both masterful. It is easily the finest wine Giorgio Rivetti has ever made, and is also the first wine in the estate's history that can truly challenge for a spot in the top echelon of the zone. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2019."

Village Wine Cellar - Where we keep our entire store at a constant 64 degrees From Parker's Wine Buyers Guide No 7 by Robert M. Parker, Jr. is this quote from the introduction, How to Store Wine, page 9:
"If you can somehow get the temperature down to 65 degrees Farenheight or below, you will never have to worry about the condition of your wines."
Here at the Village Wine Cellar we proudly keep we proudly keep our ENTIRE store a constant "64 degrees temperature controlled," 365 days a year, hence Village Wine Cellar. This separates our store from all others as temperature is vital to the keeping wine from being spoiled. Proper storage is crucial to keeping the wine's integrity and quality from being compromised.
