$1.00 SALE this week is:
Van Duzer Vineyards, Willamette Valley, Oregon
- 2011 Riesling, Winery Retail; $19.00, our price is $19.00 and get the second bottle for $1.00: Displays an array of complex yet delicate aromatics; fresh cut appl e, lime zest, white flower. These are anchored by a more intense "marmalade" aromatic resulting from the Noble botrytis infection. The positive influence of botrytis continues on the pallet, creating a sense of richness and concentration. The flavors are as varied as the aromas--lime, tangerine, bitter orange, sweet and sour candy--and suggest a "sweetness," however, the sensation of sweet is never realized as acidity and energy, with a hint of minerality, take over. The finish is dry with tremendous persistence. It will gain in complexity.
- 2010 Pinot Noir, 90 pts., Wine Spectator, Winery Retail; $32.00 our price is $29.00 and get the second bottle for $1.00: The 2010 vintage is the first to be made start to finish by our new winemaking team. The shift in style is evident in greater concentration, refinement and elegance. Delicate aromas of cherries, loose leaf black tea and brown spices. Dark red fruit and mysterious spice flavors thanks to the sheer purity, depth and intensity of the fruit. The wine conveys a sense of elegance and grace with its light yet sturdy frame and firm core lending presence and persistence.

Winery notes: A soft yellow color that will darken with age. Bright, vibrant tropical fruit aromas flow from the glass. Underlying grapefruit and lime add depth and character to the aroma. Village Wine Cellar - Where we keep our entire store at a constant 64 degrees From Parker's Wine Buyers Guide No 7 by Robert M. Parker, Jr. is this quote from the introduction, How to Store Wine, page 9:
"If you can somehow get the temperature down to 65 degrees Farenheight or below, you will never have to worry about the condition of your wines."
Here at the Village Wine Cellar we proudly keep we proudly keep our ENTIRE store a constant "64 degrees temperature controlled," 365 days a year, hence Village Wine Cellar. This separates our store from all others as temperature is vital to the keeping wine from being spoiled. Proper storage is crucial to keeping the wine's integrity and quality from being compromised. As you are aware, all too often, someone has purchased a bottle of wine elsewhere only to find that their purchase is ruined due to the store temperature was too warm. This will never happen at Village Wine Cellar. |
