January 2015: Exploring Ben Shu Acupuncture
Dr. Yanzhong Zhu, L.Ac., M.D.(China)
The objective of this course is to guide participants to an understanding of the five Shu-transporting points including their function. Herbal medicine and acupuncture share the common roots of five element and yin/yang theory. In herbs the five elements and yin/yang can be summarized as their temperature and flavor, this is how herbal functions are determined and the reason why herbal medicine can be prescribed based on diagnosis. By applying the theory of flavor and temperature to the five shu-transporting points, they can be used to match diagnosis instead of merely treating indications. The material of the course is drawn exclusively from Huang Di Nei Jing.
