PTA Message
Dear JC Parents,
Welcome to the new e-Jabberwocky!  We hope that you find this new method of communication user friendly and an easy way to receive information on a timely basis.  Please be sure to scroll down and read the entire email to ensure that you have viewed all of the information from the JC Administration and the PTA.  We appreciate any feedback you may have!

A big "THANK YOU" goes out to Julie Newcomer for all of her hard work in creating, designing, and executing our new e-Jabberwocky.   We could not have does this without her skills and talent.

Also, a big "THANK YOU" goes out to Beatriz Williams and all of the parents who donated their time baking and selling goods for our election day bake sale.  With just two days notice, during a very tumultuous time, we were able to meet our budget of raising almost $1,000 for the PTA!  What an amazing JC community we have!

Lastly, thank you to Coaches Steve Rogowskey and Bill Bogardus for their very informative review of the changes to the PE curriculum. We appreciate you taking the time to come to our PTA meeting and speaking to the parents.

Sincerely,
Cheryl Resnick & Sarah Muir
JC PTA Co-Presidents

Trish's Message

Dear Parents,

On Monday, November 12th we held our first Veteran's Day Assembly here at Julian Curtiss.  Our assembly included two honorary guests; Mr. Ed Fox, a Navy Veteran, who also served as head custodian here at JC for several years and Mr. Noel McGuinness, serving 22 years in the National Guard, and husband of our first grade teacher Heather McGuinness. The students were able to hear the stories of these brave men first hand, see the uniforms they have worn, and see pictures of Mr. McGuinness in action flying his helicopter in Iraq.  The assembly was emotional and powerful and many staff members said it was one of our best assemblies yet. A special thank you to Mrs. McGuinness for planning a video and pictures that helped our young students connect to the veterans. We plan on holding a Veteran's Day Assembly each year.

Thank you to Mr. Bill Bogardus and Mr. Steve Rogowskey for their presentation on the PE Curriculum at the November 14th PTA meeting.  The presentation is now available on the website to any parent who would like to review it.

Neighbor to Neighbor

Please consider donating to Neighbor to Neighbor.  The response has been slim to date. Continuing through December 14, each grade level will be collecting food and clothing for Neighbor to Neighbor

Due to the current state of the economy, the number of families who rely upon Neighbor to Neighbor has increased by 50% in recent months.  All items will be distributed by Neighbor to Neighbor to families in Greenwich who need assistance. Please help by donating at least one food and one clothing item.  There will be a collection box in your child's classroom.

In conjunction with this project, the JC Service club will also be collecting new or gently used winter coats, and winter clothes for children.  All of these items should beplaced in the collection boxes by the gym.
