Holiday Lights at Zoo continue through Tuesday evening, Dec. 23
Santa and all the animals are ready to greet visitors at the festive Wild Nights & Holiday lights event at the Folsom Zoo Sanctuary. Bring family and friends and enjoy thousands of lights, carolers and choirs, seasonal refreshments and animal presentations.  The 5th Annual Wild Nights & Holiday Lights event is open from 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 17 - 23, rain or shine.  Admission: $5 per person (ages 2 and under free).  Questions?  Call (916) 355-7285.
Recycle trees, packaging & more
Recycle holiday packaging materials -- including wrapping paper, tissue and cardboard-- by placing the items in your blue recycling cart. Cut small Christmas trees and put in your green waste cart (be sure lid closes completely). Drop off larger trees at the annual tree drop-off event at Rodeo Park on Jan. 3 & 4.

Wondering what to do with sand bags?
Residents picked up more than 22,000 sand bags at two Folsom locations last week.  City Public Works officials encourage people to keep the sand bags through the winter season and use as needed. Store the bags out of direct sunlight, or cover with a tarp, so the sun does not destroy the plastic bags.  Anyone who does not want to keep the bags may return them to the low-sided dumpster near the pick-up site behind City Hall.
Happy Holidays to all
Please note that City Hall, the Folsom Public Library, Senior & Arts Center and Folsom Sports Complex will be closed on Dec. 24, 25, 31 and Jan. 1 in recognition of the Christmas and New Year holidays.  Police, fire, trash and recycling services will not be impacted.
