Santa's sleigh coming your way!
Police and Fire staff and volunteers will guide Santa as he travels through Folsom neighborhoods and stops to greet children at designated locations on Dec. 13, 14, 15, 16 & 17.  For safety reasons, Santa will ONLY stop at designated sites.

Wild Nights & Holiday Lights
Folsom's popular holiday event at the  Zoo Sanctuary kicks off Friday night and continues on Dec. 6, 12-13, and 17-23.  Enjoy thousands of colorful lights, decorated trees, seasonal refreshments, carolers, Santa Claus and Santa Paws, Zoo docent animal presentations and rides on the miniature scale Starlight Express train. Regular Zoo admission fees apply.  Additional fee for train rides.  Questions?  Call (916) 355-7285.

Historic Folsom's Ice Rink is open daily for  family friendly entertainment.  Other fun options to consider this month are the Zoo Sanctuary's Holiday Party for the Animals, a Holiday Sweater Party at the Folsom Senior Center and the Holiday Revels music and skit at the Folsom Public Library.
Historic District Tree Lighting Friday eve
Rain or shine, the Historic District Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony festivities are set from 6 - 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, in the plaza by the ice skating rink.  Free train rides, carolers, Santa and more. Tree will be lit at 7:30 p.m.  Sponsored by Folsom Historic District Association -- www.historicfolsom.org 
 
Council to elect mayor, vice mayor
Recently elected City Council members Kerri Howell, Steve Miklos and Andy Morin will take the oath of office, and the Council will elect a mayor and vice mayor during a special City Council meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8.  The City Council will meet for its regularly scheduled meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9.  Due to the holiday recess, the Council will not meet on Dec. 23.  Agendas and minutes for all meetings are posted at www.folsom.ca.us
