A dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony for Folsom's Johnny Cash Trail and Bike/Pedestrian Overcrossing is set for Saturday morning, Oct. 4, at the intersection of Folsom Lake Crossing and East Natoma Street.  Exhibits open and entertainment begins at 9 a.m., and the ceremony starts at 10 a.m.

Folsom's newest police officers -- Melody Jones, David Rojo and Laura Janson -- were sworn in during the Police  Department's recent hiring and promotions ceremony and are now serving the Folsom community.  Newly hired Records Supervisor Stephanie Perez and Dispatcher Andrea Coan were also sworn in. And, recently promoted Master Officers Pete Boelman, Todd Laraway, Brian Lockhart and Lou Wright were introduced.  Congratulations to all.

Your Community Service Day donations will help provide food for 800 local families in need and 500 service men and women stationed overseas.  It's easy to donate!  Volunteers will pick-up food donations on your street on Saturday, Oct. 25.  You may drop-off care package donations at several local sites in the coming weeks.
